I’m sitting here waiting for freezing rain to bring a sheet of ice into our area. Last I heard, 40 million people in the US are going to get covered by this massive snow and ice. The good news? It may be one of the last storms of the winter. Spring will be next.
In the spring we’ll all have the urge to “get going.” And from the looks of your recent questions and comments, that’s exactly what you intend to do. “Yet there is a problem with the availability of time,” you say. “How does one make time to meditate, exercise, eat right, listen to your intuitions, watch for Synchronicity, and uplift others?”
“There are the needs of the children, or grandchildren to consider, and the demands of the job or business, or volunteer work. My life is about to explode. How can I focus on internal matters such as spirituality?”
Don’t. Just integrate your spirituality thoroughly into your day to day life, and it can be applied almost automatically.
Creating A Spiritual Good Life
Start with the key perceptions of the more conscious life that I mentioned on my last radio SHOW (3/1/15): a calm centeredness; intuitive guidance; Synchronistic opportunities; and personal mission. The key to spiritual connection and enhanced success of all kinds is tuning into these four spiritual downloads. Thankfully, our brains are designed to discover these extraordinary perceptions and open up to them until they feel like a natural part of our existence.
A CALM CENTEREDNESS
Finding peace in a fragmented world is always difficult. But it’s importance can’t be overemphasized. It keeps you healthier, more alert, and in the “star role” of your unfolding movie that is your life. And it always appears in response to a spiritually faithful prayer or meditation. Intention matters!
If the problem is finding the time for such solitude, I suggest waking up earlier before the other members of the family arise. If you are still going to be bothered by someone, take a long shower or take a walk by yourself, my favorite. Whatever it takes to practice feeling a “calm centeredness.” Use a prayer visualization that it will come to you through a connection with the one God of love within you. Affirm it is coming and then try as hard as you can to feel it. Try to remember other times when you felt this way, and seek to summon up the same feeling.
Now, use the always successful activator: GIVING.
Right there on your walk, stop focusing on your inner condition and just take this “calm centeredness,” (to whatever degree you can feel it,) and give it to the trees or the other people you might pass. If you are in the shower, visualize this calm moving through the walls and into others in the neighborhood. You should think of your heart opening fully and pouring even more of this peace you feel into the world. The image I like is one of filling up and spilling over into the world, and, energetically, I believe this is exactly what is occurring. Just keep practicing this every day for a while.
WHAT MIGHT HOLD YOU BACK
Don’t get discouraged if the degree of peace you feel isn’t as large as you would like at first. Remember, this is a practice and you are seeking a spiritual download from the larger Divine Presence within yourself. The more that connection increases, the larger your sense of a loving calm. You can be confident you will get there. Research shows that anything you practice for two weeks becomes a habit. And believe me, this is a habit you want to create.
A special consideration in all this is if you are feeling depressed. There is a difference between being sad and being depressed for a longer time. Integrative Doctors recommend that you get your blood levels checked if you think you are depressed. Sometimes, they say, low thyroid, Low D3 levels, or low Omega 3 essential fatty acids can lead to depression. So there may be naturally based solutions.
