In 1980, I was sitting on the banks of the Greenbrier River and noticed a tree I had never seen. It was across the river, about 100 feet and I was noticing the its unique bark and marvelling about how beautiful it was. I was truly amazed at it and the more I studied the closer it appeared to be. After a few moments, I realized that the tree was no longer across the river, it was right in front of me and I was able to touch it and see it close up. At first, I really did not notice it but as soon as I became concious, then i was immeditely back to where I was sitting on the oppossite bank. It took me a few moments to grasp what had happened to me and I decided (at age 10) that I was never going to tell anyone about the event.

I read the Celestine Prophecy when I was 26 and when i did, I told everyone I knew what happened to me at 10. I thought people would think I was crazy for having that wonderful experience that has always allowed me to keep an open mind.

May we all reach that level in the future. I wish I would not have waited to to be open about it but I let the control dramas dominate.

thanks for sharing your experiance. i also had regular experiances as a child and had completely forgotten about them until reading your message. the relevance of those occurances, at the time ,obviously slipped by me being so young. now thinking about them they hold new meaning . it sed to happen to me with people tho usually teachers, at school or martial arts, they would appear closer and i would feel a very strong connection and when i lost it i would struggle to regain it. i now realised through other paths my life has taken that trying too hard can sometimes put up a barrier, you need to relax and just FEEL the moment, don't try to explain it just go with it and in doing so you allow enegry to flow in because your not just focusing on your effort blindly.

It saddens me to think of how closed off I have become to simple tuning in with nature around me. I used to be so much more fluent with the energy around me. I've come to the conclusion that fear has blocked my vision, and past experiences have lead me down a path where the walls are high and there's little light from above. I truely miss the nearness of natural beauty. Your post has me thinking that I am going to make a much more concerted effort to challenge and deny those fears that have me imprisoned away from the beauty of the world. Even the resolution to try to overcome the fear is frightening. I guess, as with anything else, acknowledging the fear is the first step to conquering it. There's a love I've been missing for quite some time. (and I don't mean anything like a relationship with another person...) I hope you all have found your ways of touching it.
