Have you ever thought about how much time people spend on computer games?
Now think about it, what if you approach your life as it is a game.
The only difference I see between games and real life is that in games you KNOW you CAN succeed. Think about it, when you play a game you start with level one and it seems impossible to pass this level, but you continue to play. You try again and again and you begin noticing things, like where to get stamina, health, strength and you finally made it to second level after hundreds of rounds? Why didn't we stop playing after we failed hundreds of times? Because we KNEW we COULD succeed!
We knew this when we were kids, before we began to walk we fell at least 400 times, what if our parents told us then; you already fell 300 times, don't you see this is not for you. Your brother walked after only 150 falls, it's time that you quit.
Now think about applying this attitude to real life, let's say you wan't to be public speaker, you went out to stage and you embarrass yourself completely. In real life you would be completely depressed and blaming yourself for miserable speech. In game you would say, WOW this is going to be fun! And try again and again, as you would getting better you would notice that there are seminars and books that can help you, you would even find debate group to practice and soon enough you would be going on to next level because you mastered this one!
Now the second problem is: there are too many possibilities in life, we don't know which one to take. Again look at the games world, when you come to the store which game would you pick? The one which you find most attracted to, right? You try it, you play it for a while and if you don't like it you go for another one. You don't stop playing games because you can't decide which one you like the most! You just go for one and have fun while it's interesting.
Now for those who suffer in their life I am sure they are the greatest players, because it is easy to succeed in game when you are born rich and healthy. But next time you will say I wan't to start very poor, or with disabilities or deaf, blind! It will be much harder but if I succeed It will be so much rewording.
So let me just for the end give example of some of the high score players in game of life:
Stephen Hawking
Ludwig van Beethoven
Louis Braille

Good point!!! Thanks!
I can't think of a situation it doesn't apply to.

Its not easy to remember these things when one is going through difficult times.I'm getting better at it though. Perhaps thats the true object of the game of life, to always see that its possible to succead and keep trying no matter what. I'm doing better already! _________________ Love is not made, its grown. Great analogy to look at life from a more objective perspective.

I agree with you, it's very hard to think like this when one is going through difficult times, but what I noticed from my own experience is that I recover faster. Like in a game, while we are playing we are very emerged in what is going on, we can be full of stress, tensed and we can even fell dissapointed if we don't succeed, but afterwards you remember that it's only a game and you forget about it.
We always try to avoid unpleasant moments in our lives, but those are the moments that make us who we are. I myself am going trough difficult times lately and I can feel myself growing as a person. I began saying thanks for every hard situation that I am in, with hope that I will go out as a better person.
Let's think about it, if you wan't to get some new experience before you can appreciated it you need to know what is the opposite from that, right? So if you wan't to experience warm, you need to know how cold feels like, if you wan't to experience light you need to know how dark looks like, othervise there would be only light, you cannot appreciate that because there is nothing else.
Now think about it; take a look at the people who were sick and now are cured, think about the people who were very poor and now have money, think about the people who were in war and now live in peace. They don't look at things the sam way as other people, they can appreciate and enjoy simple things. So, yes it is hard to face tough situation, but if we keep our gratitude for EVERYTHING that is happening in our lives I beleive we will see that it was actually a gift, a gift of opening our eyes, because in this state of vibration we would not be able to see the gift.
I am sorry if I said a lot of confusing things here, but I wrote as I was thinking so i hope it makes sense.
Love,

And you wrote it like a child having great insight and wisdom pouring into his awareness. I love that.
I actually had Joy reading your post because it has always affected me for others to be amazed at life. To feel Wisdom. To tell others the amazing insights they have.
Thank you for giving me a glimmer of memory of that fantastic energy of mentoring and being mentored. I used to have daily appreciation and daily confidence that my path would cause me to make a difference that day. Simple. I brought me Joy, Faith, and Hope. Simple.
I like your examples as well about just continueing to try as long as enjoyment was attained. Then, just going on to the next 'game' along the path. Love It.
Thanks again so muchly! Grins N Glimmers,

I love all the wonderful views ---all of you had ---about (The Game of Life)--- and it is a beautiful reminder of how we strive to continue in our own acheivements and daily mindset!!!
I have always told people that my most difficult times made me grateful and thankful as well as more intelligent and in tune with all other human experiences ----because ----I call it a test ---(The Life Test)--- (God)--- always gives his best students -- His Hardest Test---why?
Because-- God already knows-- (we can pass)-- or as so well put in the game ---God knows we can (move up to the next level)--- or (pass) ---the next-- (difficult)--- test!!!
Love & Hugs to you all from Jennypoo!!! _________________ Jennypoo loves you too!!! |

the insight that i gain is more on the way we look at life. in a game, we know there is still hope because we can try again. now, in real life, we usually get frustrated and give up.
we dont take the game seriously, we dont care if we fail or not, all we do is we enjoy the act. we thought we have nothing to lose, we have no attachment to the result. we just enjoy the experience. hope we can view life that way
thanks, thats very insightful _________________ If God is our target destination, we cant miss. God is so big. He's everything, we have nowhere else to go. |

Good morning all,
This reminds me of the following bible verse....
Ecclesiastes 1:13 And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: THIS SORE TRAVAIL HATH GOD GIVEN TO THE SONS OF MAN TO BE EXERCISED THEREWITH.
And may we all pass with flying colors to ascend to the next level as we look to Christ Jesus and his teachings as the author and finisher of our faith. _________________ God is Love |

Hi Dani, Hi All,
I heard its not the falling down that matters its the getting up which says what you say with your example of life being like a game.
Do you know who this is:
failed in business at 22 years old
was defeated for the state legislature at 23 years old
failed in business at 25 years old
coped with the death of partner at 26 years old
suffered a nervous break down at 27 years old
was defeated for speaker at 29 years old
was defeated for congressional nomination at 34 years old
was elected to congress at 37 years old
lost renomiation for congress at 39 years old
was defeated for the senate at 46 years old
was defeated for the vice-presidency of USA at 47 years old
and was defeated for the senate at 49 years old
This was Abraham Lincoln, elected president of USA 51 years old.
30 years of not giving up. Or 30 years of failures and one success but what a success!
What distinguishes the extraordinary from the rest is that they dust themselves off and say "what's next?" and then they do it!
Thank you Dani for sharing such an insightful thread.
Love
Theressa |
