My dreams usually jump around a lot in a very disjointed pattern, so I was somewhat surprised when this one took place entirely in a single location.
I was in a relatively large, cluttered shed with a few others (four or five) of different ages, most of whom I don't recall the features or details of. The one person I can recall who remains through the entire dream is a young, pale girl with brown hair, and this is largely because of the event at the end of the dream.
I don't recall the beginning of the dream, although I have the impression very little was happening. What I recall clearly to begin with is the girl skittering away from one of the shed walls as a small, greenish snake slithers past, hugging the wall as it moves toward the tool rack towards the back.
As if on queue, suddenly there are snakes appearing from underneath the odds and ends around the shed, and even on the walls and roof. The snakes all vary in colour and hue, but most common are the greens to whom the first snake is most similar, and a speckled brown/light brown species I am unfamiliar with. Two of the others in the shed are hugging the wall by the open roller door to avoid them, as the impression the dreamscape gives me is that most of these are rather venomous.
Moving back to avoid one that is about to slither over my feet, I look up in time to see a massive, two metre long speckled brown snake slither through the shed door towards the girl, who jumps out of its way as it moves past. Stunned, I watch as it moves toward the back of the shed, before looking up to see my father walk through the shed door shortly afterward.
This is all I recall of the dream, though I know it came to an end shortly after the larger snake made its entry. My father passed away seven years ago, and if I recall correctly his Chinese zodiac symbol is that of the snake, although the impression I receive from the dream, looking back, is that he is a minor element in the general message the dream is trying to impress on me.
Edit: I'll also add that I've been seeing snakes relatively often in the waking world as well, and the large snake in my dream bore a faint resemblance to a much smaller (but still big) snake that I saw several days ago at my local bus stop.
Thought this would be interesting to share ^^ _________________ In each of us is a hollow that cannot be filled, a craving that is not quite hunger, but something more persistent, more real...

Hello SW,
Interesting dream. I would never say I know what someone else's dream was about, but at the same time I certainly am not bashful enough to not share my perspective . I have had a very powerful dream once where I was walking with my father and we came to a house where a friend was. I asked my father to wait for me and went inside the small ram-shackled little house to speak with the friend and other indistinct people. My father came to the screen door and looked in. I saw him, invited him in, but he just smiled and turned away. When I was done with my conversation I went out to look for him, but he was gone. This dream foreshadowed a small falling out I had with my father as I pursued things in my life that he never understood, or even try to understand. So, it is through this perspective that your dream speaks of a conflict between something new in your life, something persistent, and things that your father instilled in you.. not your father per se, but ideas or teachings of you father or that generation.
Anyway, just my two simple cents.
Have a good day.

Any feedback on my dreams is appreciated everything gives that little bit more to think about in regards to the information, and may provide that tiny bit of information required to catalyze complete understanding.
This could be a part of it... I do recall a great deal of confusion/bewilderment in the dream, although my father seemed to be a relatively minor element by comparison to the snakes, in particular the large one, whose appearance riveted my attention on it. _________________ In each of us is a hollow that cannot be filled, a craving that is not quite hunger, but something more persistent, more real...

Hello SW,
Regarding the snake. It is simply a question of perspective; is the snake a demon trying to scare you out of something good? Or is the snake an angel perceived as a demon because it is trying to get you to let go of the past and move forward?
It's really not so bad being a snake.
Enjoy,

| My thoughts, I kind of see this as a dream about you needing to shed some old patterns and behaviors in yourself. There are things about us and our behaviors that can use improving. But we don't always want to face our darker sides. This dream seems to indicate you instinctually want to avoid facing the behaviors but the door is open now for you to mature and grow past them. You are at a new place and some old ingrain patterns are free to fall away from you now if you will let them. |
