What's in a dream?

Hello everybody!
I've read that one can only dream of oneself and that every other person, animal or thing you see in a dream is an aspect of your own self.
Do you agree?
Could you help me interpret the following:
Recently I was considering applying for a position which involves a change of career and moving to another town, but I was hesitating.
One night I suddenly saw the face of a friend who told me not to, then we had a long converstaion, which I don't remember, but the imprssion it left lingering behind was positive. He also suggested an alternative.
I can't get in touch with him directly at the moment.
I wonder if I imagined that he was talking to me, if it was my own idea not to apply for the position.
Has anyone had similar dreams?

Did I see you in the chat last evening asking about meditating?

I think that Dreams are fun to look at for insights. My sister is an avid dreamer and gets interesting insights, lessons, and awareness in her dreams. I always enjoy when she shares.

I rarely dream (or remember), so I am the opposite.

It sounds like either your wisdom, or your 'angels' are chatting with you in your dream. I'm guessing you miss your friend and would like to chat about this change. I do not think it is a conclusion to stop your change, just an opportunity to be slow and cautious as you look at it as an option. Maybe someone is coming into your life to assist or discuss. Maybe you are wanting it for reasons that you need to examine more.

I think it is an energy to give you more insight and a connection with your friend for either memory, love, or need. Prayers out.

Thank you so much for sharing with me.
Sorry, no, I've never been in the chat. Don't know how it works yet.
And you're guessing right: I do miss my friend. However, I decided not to rush things and didn't send out my application (the deadline is actually tomorrow, but I've made up my mind not to). Still, I do hope that everything will be all right and that we'll be reunited one day, soon I hope!
Like your sister, I dream a lot both at night and early in the morning when I wake up and meditate before getting up. This is the best time, and I have very interesting insights, but I don't really know what they are, I think sometimes they are memories from past lives ... I think I re-visited five of my past lives in this way, but I'm not sure. And I don't know how to make sure. Any ideas? Does your sister know how to interpret her dreams and insights?
