does anyone on here want to discuss reiki or ask questions about reiki, i am willing to answer any and all questions to the best of my ability. i teach reiki! also does anyone have any reiki prayer requests? Smile

we can open this up as another topic for specificly reiki paryer requests and distance healing requests! Smile

besides reiki we can also talk about anything else you want to, be it religion, shamanism, plant medicine and herbalism, aromatherapy, massage, and etc........

well to begin with reiki comes from japan. the word means unversal life force energy. it also refers to a specific healing tradition which has many hundreds of offshoots today. it is a form of laying on of hands healing for all who didn't know. recently it was indorsed by doc. oz on an oprah show!

Hi, and glad you posted on the topic.

On the Tribe.net web-forum system, there are two or more Reiki forums. On the main one (just called "Reiki"), I posted a poll. The poll was directed to people who had been attuned to Reiki. It asked about the degree to which their life had been altered by Reiki. 95% said "Reiki changed my inner life for the better," and 62% said "Reiki completely (i.e., radically) changed my inner life for the better."

But, for me, Reiki is also a personal thing that I know very intimately. Eight years ago I broke my leg while in a steep area of the forest, and (while mending) I decided to take a course and an "attunement" in "Reiki". I thought I was doing this for my leg, but it startled me when it resulted in several other benefits: The attunement itself immediately and unexpectedly acted to clear away many old, stubborn emotional traces that had remained inside me since childhood and adolescence, and also those of a disasterous marriage I'd been in that had broken down. In the background of my awareness had been this irksome muddiness, a combination of confusion, frustration, loss, sadness, and conflicting choices.

In reaction to emotional pain, I'd put up walls against people or certain behaviors. But after my attunement, both the pain/conflict and the walls I had constructed just dissolved - possibly not totally, but very much so. My overall mood and outlook greatly improved and I felt more stable and more able during the day under all circumstances. Another remarkable thing: my sense of intimacy with nature (birds, dogs, horses) markedly increased. Birds began to perch on my head when I meditated outdoors... which I liked. Laughing

And, also, about three times as many people as before acted like they really liked me! (And this has continued.)

Obviously, I felt less absorbed by personal problems and any tendency toward obsession with them. I know that my "personal atmosphere" improved and, among other surprising outcomes, my "sending" telepathy increased.

On the physical level (and due to the use of the Reiki self-healing techniques I learned), my kidney function improved, my daily energy level rose quite noticeably, and a skin irritation symptom I'd had since I was less than seven years old disappeared, permanently. And instead of getting maybe three colds or flu per year, I've had three the last six years.

So, Reiki is well worth discussing and considering, in my opinion.

Hi Rev,

I am a attuned as a reiki master myself. However, I do not teach reiki.

I am so glad you have started this thread for I for one would love to discuss it.

My dearest friend Mark who is attuned to reiki 2 asked me the other day whether the reiki master's changed me? I said "URM, it is so tricky because since I do not know if it was reiki or the other stuff that I have done in conjunction with reiki that have made the biggest impact on me"

I cannot say if my life would be any different if I had never done reiki. But, I can say that it did make me think about things I never thought about before.

However, would these things have still happened, would this growth have come as part of my natural spiritual life development?

I get so confussed about the whole vibration thing. The whole law of attraction thing. Infact I get confussed totally. Because I have done reiki, spiritual healing, orthordox medicine, accunpuncture, infact everything possible to my knowledge and I still do not have a healed right elbow. yes its improved but, still pains me.

So, i am a miss as to what else I could do?

So, does reiki change anything? I do not know.
Would anything else work or be responsible? I do not know.
Is it all about personal responsibility? Yes
So, i think this is what reiki gave me, the realisation that its all up to me.

I know crystals and reiki make my head feel clearer when I use it. But, I am not sure about vibrations and reiki?

How is it suppose to help?

I am honest about how I feel for I see no point in pretending otherwise?

Rev, what is reiki meant to do?

Isn't it my job to sort my life?

Does reiki help in this and how?

Hi Reverend,

I heard of reiki a few years ago and at that time thought maybe I should learn it...but then the thought went away Rolling Eyes

but today you have brought it back to my attention. I do have a question though, what exactly do you have to do to learn reiki and can anyone do it? Is it for healing yourself as well as others and returning to balance?? Maybe my questions are too broad, but I was just curious Wink

. Oh and I would love to know more about distance healing...can you do that?

I'm slowly trying to learn more about reiki,shamanism,I met a woman who does reiki and her husband is an instructor also!She told me before knowing my name that I was very sensitive to animals,nature and that reiki would help me ever more to heal myself and others!I also bought "animal speaks" a couple months back and my animal totem ,after a couple of weeks of asking Mother nature to let my Totem come to me by itself,it happened in a dream wich was very spiritual!!I'll try to get some classes in both of theses new life changing styles later because my budget is not too good right now and also I'm doing a transport training(Az)license and also a heavy equipment operators certificate until April!

Even if I' ll be working with heavy machinery or a big truck I'd like to build nice things either in landscaping or something like that because I don't wanna destroy life ,I want to make some or make things more beautiful! Smile

Anyways, if you have good books I could read on shamanism,let me know! Continue the nice work poeple,someone out there might need it!

I notice this thread today - and earlier today talked to a woman that is actually going through treatments with a woman from China that has brought about a cure that medical doctors gave up on, partly using the "reiki" method (with a combination of others that she has developed) - and the woman is a doctor herself.

Anyone that has links and such - please post them as this is of interest to me.

well hello again everyone! i am back. sorry i was gone long....but so much has been happening. well i am glad to see that there were some responses. well one person asked what you have to do to learn reiki. you must go to class and get attuned. i caution not to do distant attunements of two day class mastership or online classes. there are too many missing frequencies and a complete lack of information. go to a certified reiki instructer that teaches usui reiki. get in person attunements. also don't try to do too much to fast. there should be at the very very least three months between reiki levels. a year is best i think. to become a reiki master doesn't mean that you have mastered reiki it means that reiki has mastered you. distance healings are possible and any level two reiki practitioner or reiki master can do them. reiki healing helps the body's own natural healing abilities enhance, expand, and eccelerate. any more questions? i am so glad for all the stories and imput yall have added to this thread.

As a P.S. for those of your who are looking into Shamanism I recommend going to a class. It is fun and great to read about it and learn about it intellectually but it makes an even more significant impact when it becomes reality in front of you. Check out the web and search for someone in your area.

I was just sitting here at my desk contemplating and got a little excited about vibrational analogies Smile

You can think of a pot of water - put it in the freezer and it moves really slow. The molecules are moving at a very slow rate of vibration. Next put the pot of water on the stove and it melts (molecules moving faster) and begins to boil - a very high rate of motion i.e. high rate of vibration, energy and heat.

Things tend to expand when they are heated (gas vs solid) - a good reason to watch your tire pressure in the summer. When cold, items are denser. By raising your energy through reiki you allow your molecules to speed up and expand, creating space for energy to flow and release blocks. Imagine an achy body part as having ice trapped there - allow reiki to come in as a river of hot water heating up the ice as it passes by, melting it and carrying it off to the rest of your body so you become more fluid, warm, and joyful Smile

With a faster, warmer, fluid body your natural ability to heal is sped up.

This can also explain why while giving Reiki you and/or your client can get really hot. The engery flowing between you two is moving really fast and creating heat.

If you have the flu and no reiki it will take your body longer to fight of the virus, whereas if you have reiki (either through yourself or someone else) then it will add energy to your body allowing the process to speed up and result in a heathy body faster than on it's own.

If you like, use my example of the hot river flowing past an iceberg in your body as a meditation and self reiki. See if you can melt the ice in your elbow (or other area for others interested in using this as a personal meditation).

My wife and I are both Reiki Masters and we teach and attune others to at least reiki healer level for next to nothing and Reiki Master level for the same except we leave them stay at reiki 2 level. We also attune some to Reiki Master however that requires a commitment level and agreements.
