Does anyone else get really drained and find it difficult to find a place to just "get away" sometimes? It seems everyone in your 'circle' is pulling one way or another and you fid yourself thinking "it would be so nice just to find a few more people in the real world who are catching on" Rolling Eyes Smile

Maybe you will teach them by your example.

Hi Leap,

This is a lesson in you saying NO to others and for letting them know you are unavailable some of the time. No one can pressure you unless you let them. When we have a diary full of stuff for others, we need to ask our self why am i running away from spending time alone?

For me its sometimes because I wanted to be needed, wanted and loved. I felt I had to keep others happy. Now I know their happiness is nout to do with me, but to do with their interpretation of what is happening.

I was also afraid of receiving so i did lots of giving and attracted lots of takers. Then finally i get sick and tired of being sick and tired and i started to ask for what i needed and stopped being so available for others. Then it happened. Givers came into my life.

I realised these people were only in my life because of ME!! So, if I wanted something different then i had to go and seek it. I realised I needed nurturing people in my life.

We set up a group and many came to it. Sometimes you do not know what people are truly interested in. Sometimes they don't say because they fear others will laugh.

Also, adversity/drama will hold some great lessons. Its all about looking at how you respond. Do you expect a cat to be a dog? In other words do you want everyone to change. Maybe you need to choose others to hang out with. As people rarely change unless it deeply affects them and they are moved to change themselves.

i hope this helps

"Leap", it isn't so much about 'catching on' as to living it in practical day to day life that is important. From my perspective of course.

As an online friend wrote just last night to me, many times an apple really is just an apple - meaning many times we read much more into a situation than the simplicity that it really is.

When you originally posted your comment, now several months ago at a time of year when many are indeed very busy - you just needed to really take the time to sit down and - smell the roses and take a rest.

Strangely, that post was around the time I started being pole-axed by "panic attacks" (after being a generally quite confident person who was training to be a college theology lecturer - got the degree, was getting the PGCE)...which has pretty much house-bound me since Shocked A BIG message from the universe to take it easy AND at how following Ego (I was getting into the whole "lecturer" status) is just a path to pain.

There is NOTHING like that sweet, metaphoric kick in the pants from the universe will get you every time.......

I believe you were to go back slowly, taking the gentle steps that you need now - it wouldn't be the same end results, Leap.

NOT TO MISUNDERSTAND - not saying that you would as they say, 'hit the floor running' - but that you would find that you could - - and the best part - - you would find out why you had a love of wanting to do such and how better to share that love now than before. You'll still break into the sweats at first, even be nervous - but that when you stay focused upon the goal that comes from within - a success that is the same, but still different than you envisioned it before.
