Hi All,

When I read a book the images it triggers in me are based on my experiences and how I see things. When I watch a movie I am watching anothers way of seeing things unfolding. So this could be a big clue why some of us prefer the book.

I would have liked to see more examples of control dramas and relationships. Also, more examples of the energy around plants. The movie seemed to only skim the ideas. But, I am aware James only had 96 minutes whereas one could have a whole day reading the book.

This brings out an important message about RESOURCES available and expectations.

Overall reading the book meant that the movie made sense to me and infact increase my understanding of the key ideas.

What I have noticed is that many on this site have strong opinions about the movie. Others seem to feel they need to stick up for the movie and James. It shows we all really do have our own ways of seeing things and thus, there will always be conflicting views about anything that impact us.

I feel the message for me is that we each do the best we can!

Thank you James for all the efforts you put into making the movie. Its amazing that each actor/actoress felt drawn to movie.

Love and light
Theressa

I loved the movie and only read the books because of it. I prefered the visuals especially the ending ascension scene. Now when I read the books Wil is an East German and not whatever he is supposed to be in the books.

I bet a lot more "guys" would take an interest in spiritual things if they saw the movie. I has car chases, women and things blowing up all within the framework of spiritual quest and its a movie you can watch and not sit down and read "all day".

But I have read books first and then seen the movie and in those cases I prefered the books.

aup theressa,
long time no see, ow ya doing. when i read the book i spent a lot of time staring in to space imagining all different aspects of it, when i watched the film i new what was happening even though at times it a bit vague and not enough info of the the insights.
james and co did do a good job with the film for me, but for the people i watched it with it didnt work, i do think the book gives all the info we need to try and get to grips with this way of life, though the film would have attracted a much more wider populace, and spread the word much further.
i would like to say the was very good for me, and i did watch it three times, see you later dude.

One thing I am glad they left out of the movie is the idea of population reduction and the other political stuff.

Was it at the end of book 1 or 2?,that the idea of population reduction was expressed..

I think not capping human growth poplulation has been one of the greatest mistakes of the 21st century..

It was somewhere in the last part of book 1 for sure. I dont want less people but I think we need a better way of living and better life enhancing cities.

Hi Pre,

I believe that there are no mistakes, only learning experiences; whatever happens in our world, happens in order for us to learn our life's lessons. And anyway, who'd put their hand up not to be here at this point in time? Not me, that's for certain.

Can you contexualise 'a better way of living & better life enhancing cities',if not, then thats a problem, for it will then slip into pure vagueness..

One has too know how too right a wrong,or improve things or alter things otherwise,we can slip into full-on new-ager terriorty(left wing liberal)?..

'a better way of living & better life enhancing cities'

A better way of living is pretty subjective but I think everyone should be schooled in personal development training such as goal setting and meditation. I would never want to force anything on anyone though. I like the worlds evolutionary end (mostly) as portrayed in Redfields books.

Life enhancing cities would be the opposite of Detroit. Less concrete and more trees. Less straight lines and more curvature in buildings. Cities just feel so unnatural to me. Maybe because I grew up on a farm?

I am comfortable with vagueness and left wing liberals btw.

Hi Pre,

I absolutely agree that we do have to know how to right a wrong. However, when we try to right something that we don't fully understand, we can affect greater 'wrongs' and worsen the problem. We must address the cause of the wrong and not just bandage the effect to make it look better. In order to address the cause we have to understand life.

Will we ever understand life? I don't know. However, I do know that I now understand my own. And I think that that is all we can ever do. Once we find meaning in our own life, we can affect the changes we were born to. Up until that point, we're on the journey of self discovery.

Find your self to affect true change... you'll be pleasantly surprised.

it is unfortunate that the bit on the plane wasnt part of the story,

the second insight is the most important insight

leaving it out ensures the 10 th insight will never be realised

if we dont know the logical progression
[that his-tory that got us here]
we just cant get to the future

i cried about the movie too

not for what was there in the movie [but what was cut out]

the most important thing[ the clue of the 'hero' being a historian only added to the loss]
all through the movie his 'flash backs could have been progressing through history]

that could still be edited in [via the writers edition dvd???]

i admit it is the hardest , thing that hit me hard
but could be edited in just by using media footage!

but also others who dont want to know
you cant get past the 2 de insight ,

the 3 rd isnt really that much of an insite
as cutting out meat seems to be the clue to ''see aura's''

im not fussed on seeing aura's
they sound more a destrsaction
ohh i see aura
sorry aura seeing dude's
nothing personal
its just what i didnt see in the movie brought me down

Not seeing the truth of how we got to where we now are
thats the most important step we need to overcome

read the tenth insight
it nearly all is a life revieuw
thats the big point left out of the movie

read the 10th [see the shooting scene ]
that is a spiritual truth Exclamation

those who cant jump over the facts of where we been
get stuck in a living hell Twisted Evil Rolling Eyes Evil or Very Mad

where the same thing does the same result
[go figure]
same
same
same

but its actually a form of insanity
insanity is doing the same thing
expecting a different result

read the 7 th lesson of a course in miricles
it reveals the same as the 2 de insight ,
failing to 'live the second can never reach the tenth

the 3 rd is a fact but its a teqnique ,

sure you know the trick but without the 2 de your creating your own delusional version
as revealed in part in the 10th

anyhow
know where we have been
try this
http://www.republicbroadcasting.org/index.php?cmd=archives
just listen

dont get angry
just listen
dont judge
just listen

know how we got here Exclamation

only then once we see where we clearly have been
can we ever hope to relise the next step
,by knowing not trick's , deceptions , spin ,but truth

any how im ready to go see tghe movie again ,
[i only could watch half an hour ]

when i realised the best bit was cut out
i couldnt see why i was watching it
i was blocking my eyes from seeing with my own tears

was it recorded in another language?
its much like watching an old bruce lee film
was it designed to make my eyes see
or so i couldnt see through my tears

any one know if the film script is available
[i would rather read the script]
but as i have the movie i will complet seeing
it to see if it gets more clear later on
now my tears have dried out
but i feel so egsausted

the music seems to run counter the movie flow
there is so much can be said in song
in the background while our eyes absorb the vision

that is another point the darkness of the photography
[it should be radiating light yet has so much darkness]
, maybe a wide screen makes it better]

anyhow i loved the book
reading it over and over

maybe i will learn to love the movie
and i only seen half an hour of it

i would love to read the script
it would be explaining that im missing in the vision

any body have any idea what those spanish talking dudes were saying
word for word?

seems that would be important
why no subtitles ?

why their lips moving
yet they say so little ?

who set the music score
who didnt do the lighting

sorry im trying to lighten up

ok i said too much
loved the books james
never read better

i supose thats why i cant 'get' the movie
maybe im not really trying to see it
maybe my tears wont let me see

Hi one under god,

In life there are always a number of possible reasons why things work out the way they do. Only hindsight puts everything into perspective and that's why you are spot on with the importance history plays in our learning process.

However, everything that has ever happened is now history, including your writing your post on this forum, me writing this reply and the CP movie itself. Those events led to another and then to another, all were right at the point in time in which they were created. Perhaps, you weren't ready to watch the film at the time you first tried? Or perhaps you were meant to see as much of it as you did, in order for you to learn something about yourself? Or maybe the film had been made the way it had, in order for you to write this post? Perhaps it was all meant to happen in order for us to connect?

We will never know, but one thing we do know is that we can't force the learning process. When the time's right you will watch the film and know that it was right for its own right time in history.

Very often we are sent down a path in life that makes no sense at all, but feels so right... we have to go with our feelings and see it through free of pre-conceived ideas. In my books, there is only one impossibility in life and that is that history will repeat itself. Pre-conceived ideas are our expectation that history will repeat itself...

Welcome on board by the way!

Cheers for now, Pat

thank you pat
for the reminder

i built it up too much
i have now seen all of it , and am remembering the better bits
like enjoyed this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71M8tfq5k4o
and i think a few scenes earlier ,
when a priest was describing the insights

as well as the aura's interacting ,and most of the enery exchanges

also i enjoy the discussion that people are giving the topic
as well as the shorts people have put up
on some of the more definative aspects
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvUr_a-s20c

the lips of people moving and no speach or the others speach comming out was an ongoing disapointment ,
but by closing my eyes the sound was fine

as well as the two spanish spoken scenes
[both time of officials talking ,that was just plainly

[i have no word for it]authoritarian [orwellian-speak][big brother exclusivity]??

i found it particularilly disconcerting to see movement of conversation yet not hearing what was being revealed ,even spanish would have been better than [nothing]

[the feeling is much like that of people wispering ,because they are trying to keep some secret ,
but more on a personal level because of the close up of lips moving yet no sound it just felt depressing ,like deliberatly wispering a secret , we are not meant to be privey to ,like parents keeping secrets ]

obviously there is some personal issue [for me ] being revealed in revealing it [i will work on it]

Yet the officials that wasnt worthy of us knowing,
like we wernt trusted to know [very authoritorian speak]
so not one clue to what they were saying ,
it was just so orwellian
,like this is big brother is talking and you will have no clue
seem's deliberatly insulting on a politicly officious level
[but i think i know what that issue relates too me ; in my past]

But it is what it is ,
and as you say it is history

[i was so hoping to show it to the family and recomend it to those i know who wont read a book [but will watch a movie]

but i realise the fault lies with me ,

it was the books perfection ,as well as the hope to comunicate to those wallowing in media movie spin ,
but it is what it is

i still would love to see the script
[just to know what was planned ]
[but suspect it to be in spanish]

by syncronistic means i heard about the film
and about the makers having been given first time acces to an old oak forrest [but i didnt even note that]

but forgive me , i know there are no promises
the acters looked like they were supposed to [like they read like in the book] the illuminated scenes were uplifting

ts not that i wasnt ready to see the movie

[its that it didnt match my expectation ,
that i allowed it to be built up to in my minds eye]

,it was a teaching
[or more a comfirmation
not to expect perfection in this age and time]

i bless that we connected

that is one more definate that i can admit to be a goodness
that as well feels right

[i dont know what it is with my posts ,
i so often get no response to my posts

[and if i do it is usually about my spelling
but that is the only thing i usually get response on]

So its good to get a response
that replies to my posting ,and is so uplifting as well as informative ,

so thank you for your words

this seems a good ship
so im pleased to be on board

i certainly hope history repeats
bon voyage and contentment
for all who sail in here

Hi one under god,

Yep, we're all here to share and you'll be amazed how much we learn ourselves through sharing.

I've looked back on my old posts to realise the words I was writing nine months ago are now becoming a reality. So, hang on in there, it really is worth it. I now know that the act of giving ourselves through our words shows our determination to find our own truth. Be strong in your commitment to share and your truths will become real.

Try not to concern yourself about the lack of response to your posts. We're all learning about ourselves and that is a unique subject matter for us all. I believe those who post on this forum with the intention of wanting to pass their own knowledge onto others, learn most from the experience... so you are well and truly on the right track.

Whenever we feel we are being tested in life, we are; when we show our true colours, we pass with honours.

Enjoy the journey!

Pat
