Thank you, thank you, thank you, and another one just for luck... thank you!

What can I say? Your book was there at just the right time for me and so too was this forum. I couldn't be where I am today (super-content and truly happy to be part and parcel of this amazing: family, society, country, planet and universe of ours) without you having had the faith in yourself to find, and then be, yourself.

Being ourself is the easiest way to live; it's natural. However, attaining that state is far from easy; it's a battle we wage against ourself, to find ourself. Our battle today has been made so much easier, because of the one that you fought in relative isolation, many moons ago. Thank you for being that person of determination, strength and faith, and doing what you did when you did it... thank you, for being you... a godsend.

Hi Guys,

I wrote the words of thanks in my previous post, but at that time I only had an inkling as to how special this forum actually is. You have all been my extended family, but I believe, the only one in the world that isn't in some way dysfunctional. Here I have been able to be myself, warts and all, and you've accepted me with love, warts and all... a massive thank you!

You guys have given me the unconditional love I needed to answer my life's questions; to erase my doubts.

Because I had so many doubts and questions in my life, I was under the misapprehension that that was how we were meant to live... we experience life, something goes wrong, we question, we learn, we understand, we move forward. I now know better. With your help, I now know that we don't have to understand everything, only that which doesn't make sense, because it has hurt us in the past. All other understanding about life itself, falls into the faith basket, coming to us, if and when we need to learn it.

My goodness that makes life so easy! All we need is love and faith. Who'd have thought it! Of course it might mean a few changes to our education systems... Saying that, I believe that enlightened parents and children will make that happen.

Thank you guys... all of you, for the love and faith you've shown, time and time again in me your sister.

And now the adventure begins... no doubts, no questions!

Group hug,
Pat

Hi Truth, Ziggy and little bird,

Here we share and relate on a soul level. I know not what any of u look like physically but on a soul level the sharing is always perfect for the occasion. We each share our musings of the moment and for an amazing reason the musing is an answer to anothers prayer. Imagine that!

James step was the first connection but it is we who've shared hope and love. It is us who commit to each other soul development. So yes thank you James for your flickers of light but thank you to you soul friends for expanding it to a bonfire of light lol!!!

Pat i agree that all is revealed and never before we are ready. lol!!

Here's a pretend glass of champagne for all of you and me. **** (yes i know they are stars, use your imagination lol !!) to celebrate our soul celestine family.

May u continue to see the clues. So go easy on the champagne lol!!!

LOVE AND LIGHT

PostPosted: Mon Aug 18, 2008 4:23 pm    Post subject: We seek that which we find Reply with quote

Hi Theressa,

Absolutely... cheers!

I've just finished reading Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder... the perfect book for me just at the right time... go figure! Anyway, part of the book (Freud) was about how we unconsciously seek out that which we need in life. The example it used was pregnant women. When a woman's pregnant she sees pregnant women everywhere... which, when we think about it makes sense on so many levels. We need help of those going through the same experience, hence our innate ability to seek them out.

Which brings me to this posting. In life we unconsciously seek out that which we find, meaning that everything that has an impact on our lives, that is the good, the bad and the downright ugly, is there for us, because it brings us the opportunity to answer our life's questions. Which begs the question, "What's with the bad and ugly stuff?" Well, it only appears bad and ugly, because it goes against our own, very personal, unproven, beliefs! The bad stuff is our opportunity to prove or disprove one of our beliefs. When we don't take up the opportunity, we allow our beliefs to close our minds to a chance to prove them. However, when we see everything in life as being there because we want it there, we open our hearts and minds to life's possibilities!

Life's good! And when it isn't, we've chosen to take up the challenge of trying to making it so... for all!

A tricky one, but true!

I guess I've posted this same logic in a number of other posts in the past, but something about finishing the book and your post here, triggered the thought that we have an innate ability to seek out what we need in life to take us forward. Which of course also means that those on whom we have an impact have chosen us to be in their lives for the same reason.

Now I think about it, I know...

I've been questioning whether the future is pre-ordained or a blank canvas. I prefer blank canvas, because then I can believe that I can have an impact on life. Pre-ordained means it's going to happen anyway... boring! I'll continue with an open mind either way, but the coincidences, our innate ability to achieve what we want to do in life, the synchronicities, the effect of the stars and planets on our lives, the fact that we (mankind) appear to have learned all we've needed to learn in the right order and the sheer power of love, all make me wonder...

I'll keep an open mind and see what turns up!

Good to share as always,
Pat

PostPosted: Thu Sep 18, 2008 9:26 am    Post subject: And so the journey continues... Reply with quote

Hi Guys,

I met with a forum member the other day and it was sooo meant to be it was untrue. I had initially been wary - well, that's only human isn't it, but I convinced myself otherwise by realising that I'd quite happily chat to a stranger in a coffee shop, so why not someone with whom I had something in common in the form of the CP forum?

As I said it was sooo meant to be. The forum and in particular its members (you know who you are) has been an absolute blessing, enabling me to learn exactly what I needed to learn... how to apply my own core values and beliefs in my own life. Saying and believing the words is fine, however, it's only when we apply them in real life situations that we truly grow. The good news being that we only do so at the right time for us... and in the right order... one at a time!

Last week was my time to graduate from the forum and bring the real me to life in the real world - 24/7. Whilst the safety of the forum was essential in me finding the strength of faith I needed to find the real me to take her out into the real world... when the time was right, it also provided the opportunity to get me out there in the form of a beautiful young woman with a heart of gold (you know who you are), who taught me my final (?) lesson: be the love you want to see in the world. How spooky is that!

And so the journey continues, spookier still and completely out of the blue, the very next day I met someone else who was on the self-learning journey and wanting to write a book about it. Whereas mine was finding spirituality through logic and reason and my husband's was through unconditional love, his was through a spiritual epiphany... and yes, of course, he'd also read the CP. Methinks we have much to learn from each other.

So guys, I guess the message is that life is for living. Have faith in yourselves and life itself will show you the way.

An enormously humungous thank you to you all!
Big, big hugs and masses of love,
Pat

Hi Guys,

I got a little carried away with that last line there, I would now like it to read:

Have faith in yourselves and life itself will show you your way (we each have our own, unique way).

Big hugs,

Hi Guys,

It's a funny old World you know, I started this topic as a thank you to James and it has ended up being a record of my work in progress, culminating today in my realisation of my reason for being... let me explain.

In an earlier post, I was wrestling with whether life was pre-ordained or a blank canvas, I still don't know, but having had my first lecture in Freedom and Determinism, I think I'm on my way to a better understanding. To me personally, it appears that before we are born we are given two tasks, the main task is a peaceful and contented life for all, a shared goal by all and the second is our personal task. Now, immediately we are born, that picture of who we are and what we are to do is shattered into a gazillion pieces... our first task is to put the pieces of the puzzle back together... not easy.

Our first years are spent trying to make sense of life - where we are, who we are and our role in life and, in a world where we can do anything we want to do, well, it's easy to become even more confused, further removing ourselves from our real goal. However, our spirit is constantly on hand to point us in the right direction, providing clues, our success is dependent on our ability to pick up those clues along the way, gradually piecing together the big picture. An update on the work in progress:

We are one - life, our own little self, the Universe and everything is 'one living being' for want of a better description. Now, whenever we try to blame a part of that one living being, what we are actually doing is recognising a personal fault. If you think about it for a moment it makes sense: we cannot be one, but at the same time point to part of that one and say it is wrong; we are one so we can't be right when we say we are wrong! There are no part measures here - it's all or nothing. Whenever we see wrong in life, that is a clue to where our work lies, so, instead of blaming that other, we look to it to work out what it is in ourselves that sees it as an obstacle rather than a challenge.

We are all wonderfully unique perfect little beings. The wrongs we see in life have been our survival mechanisms, enabling us to get where we are today - they have been good to us. Accept the warts, disfigurements, shortcomings and over-compensations, because they have all been tools we've learnt to use to get us to where we are today - ALIVE! Alive with the possiblity of fulfilling our reason for living. We've proven we are resourceful; a life force to be celebrated - plant the seed to want to find out more, we really are so worth it, every single last one of us.

We each have a main reason for being, again, confused by what we perceive to be obstacles that halt us from reaching our goal - remove the pre-conceived ideas surrounding what we can do with our skills. My reason for being is to affect effective communication. Now, I could take that knowledge and set in concrete my goal to be, for example, a speech writer. Which is fine as long as it does not blinker me to what the rest of life has to offer in the form of new, yet to be dreamed of, ways of communicating . I know my life is communication and I know that life will bring to me the opportunity for me to fulfill my goal... in whichever way it sees fit!

I was speaking with hubby about all of this this morning and likened life experiences to computer games. It's as though part of the confusion in this life is caused by our previous expertise in earlier versions (lives). Born into this life we think: "What the ??!@!!?" The key is to take a step back and have a really good long look before we proceed... there's always a choice of options, but only one is the right one and it is a clear as day when we are true to ourselves.

What can I say, but "Enjoy!" It's an amazing opportunity we have been given here - an amazing opportunity to live the lives we were born to live. It might well be pre-determined, but it's a whole lot of joy when we play our part.

So how was the communication? I still have much to learn and always willing to take feedback.

A major, major thank you to you all.
Hugs, with much love,
Pat

Oh, a BTW, I started to have visions this week... spooky! They seem to be pictures of events that happen at the same time, but in a different space... we really have no clue as to what this life might have to offer... accountants having visions - whatever next!

That seems to be the "big lesson" of my own life Smile

We are One Smile All of existance is a continuum; a Unity. Consider a stone; what separates it from the "not stone"? Very Happy It cannot be "something" (as that just raises ever more "what separates the stone from the 'something'?") but it cant be a "Nothing" (as a "Nothing" could have no presence....and with no presence, there can be no involvement). We only appear separate when we have half of the story.....get the full picture and you see the Unity Smile

PostPosted: Sat Feb 28, 2009 11:37 am    Post subject: Freedom and Determinism Reply with quote

Hi Guys,

Oh boy is life amazing! But is it really all determined, is it true that we really do not have choices in life? Methinks it has to be, however, we have our part to play in it, why and how? I don't and might never know... and that does not matter, because of the freedom that determinism brings...

Let me put it this way, let's think about the natural laws and the fact the we, either as individuals or as a collective do not have the ability to change natural laws, the ones that I can think of, being: evolution, speed of light, gravity, quantum physics, electro-magnetism and magnetism. They are a force over and above what we could possibly consider overcoming. Now, let us turn our attention to everything that has happened in life to bring us to the point where we are at this moment: every action, every word, every thought and every feeling, we are each a speck of life that represents an accumulation of everything that has ever happened in the past.

So, let's see what happens when we connect those two forces in our lives: the natural laws and the experienced, and then ask ourselves, as individuals, whether we have the power to impact those two driving forces that power our lives... do we really have choices in life? Could the indecision be part of an illusion that gives us the impression that we have a choice, or an indecisive moment that had to happen?

Another thought: when things work out not as anticipated, we have all said "It wasn't meant to be". If we believe major events are determined, why not the minor, why not everything?

However, do not despair... we might not have any choice in life, but once we truly believe that to be the case, it doesn't matter. Finally we can give ourselves AND EVERYONE ELSE a break from trying to control all of those external powers, finally we can stop beating ourselves up and open our eyes to see the wonders of life and the possibilities of what life might bring... is that prospect scary? Good, 'cos that means it must be right!

Big hugs and much love,
Pat

Hi Leap,

So, what do you think? I'd be really interested to know your thoughts on this... it just seems so right to me... at the moment... but then it would wouldn't it!

The breakthrough for me was finding out that the determinism idea was one of Isaac Newton's - when I found that out, I could almost imagine him sitting under the apple tree... in awe of life, magnificently putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

Love,
Pat

PostPosted: Wed Mar 04, 2009 11:56 am    Post subject: Determinism and Freedom are Compatible... Reply with quote

I know, I know, a very bold statement from someone who's been studying the subject for all of two minutes, but please, bear with me... it is all to do with time...

Imagine a place where the only time is the time of the moment, the now. Possibly meditating on top of a mountain at one with everything. The laws of nature are doing what they do best and we are with them every step of the way; that which has determined past events has disappeared and has zero impact on our thoughts, senses and actions, we are living in the now... no past, no future, just now.

Now, imagine the descent from the mountain top, each step bringing with it a sense of what life is 'really' like, slowly, but surely and unaware, we add to the now our perception of what the future might bring, based on our experience of the past. The question this poses is, do we step into the future pushed by the forces of the past, or with the peace that the natural laws bring?

Determinism only recreates the past into the future as a, yet to be confirmed, dotted line. It is our actions in the now that decides whether that dotted line becomes real. It is our freedom that provides us with the choice as to which way we want that line to be drawn - either a continuation of the same old same old, which firms up the dotted line, or a cancelling of the dotted line and a creation of a new, brighter and braver one. We do have a choice, we do have the freedom to create the life we want to live, all we have to do is believe... moment by moment.

Enjoy... the moments!
Big, big hugs,
Pat

BTW, can you imagine the possibilities if we were all to choose to 'be' all at the same time?
