For three years after I read CP, I stayed on the diet as suggested. My energy levels were higher. I wasn't so moody. I lost pounds and then exercised because my body just enjoyed moving! Synchronistic energy flowed Razz

I got sidetracked from that ................... Sad Sad

Well............. for whatever reasons........ I gained about 75 pounds. I have become addicted to food. It is not pleasant. I mostly feel a dull nervousness so I eat , then I am comforted for a very short while then depressed from the sugar "down" . Then I am just waiting to get to that next food fix and am constantly eating sugary or very salty foods. I hardly ever sit down and enjoy a nice meal with candles, etc.

I am starting this thread for anyone with some tips or encouragement on getting back to the Celestine suggested diet.

I really don't need discussion on if it is right or wrong. Or other philosophies on eating. One way I got sidetracked is that I heard that I could eat anything,,,,,,,,,,,, I just needed to believe that I had the power to change the energy in the food. And there was no need for the James Redfield suggested Alkaline/acid diet. Please................ I don't want to go there again!

I know from strong intuitions that I am having now ---- that the suggestions as given in the Celestine books (and then the diet James talks about on the website) are right for me.

I just need others input who believe the same..

Thank you sooo much!! Very Happy

Lynn,

It made me feel better to read your post because I have had the same experience. For the first few years I was so healthy and I felt so much better about myself. A few really amazing things happened and well- I just fell away from the habit.

I think perhaps for me at least it's a matter of having the courage to live at the hightened vibration. With knowledge comes responcibility and I still make lots of mistakes. The negative forces of this world do not want the truth to be reavealed so I think they fight harder against those on the right path. My mistakes are so quickly pointed out and I often feel beat down and discouraged. I'm sure these are just more subtle control dramas that I am working through with these people- but prior to this email this hadn't actually occurred to me! (Thanks!) Eating junk is a great way to ground yourself, slow things down- if that's what you want. I can relate to your dull nervousness.

Ackowledging it is the first step to recovery, eh? Deep breath- okay- just be prepared- this site and my new focus on Celestine priciples has already stepped up the pace of my life. Very Happy Stuff really starts clicking again... enjoy the ride!

I have you in my prayers.

Make an appointment with a qualified dietitian and find out if a) you were getting enough calories when on the "celestine diet" and b) you were getting enough vitamins and minerals. There's so much more involved with health and nutrition than eating mainly vegetables and alkaline foods.

Kitty,I know much, much about nutrition. My mother and sister are registered dieticians and I grew up learning all about good nutrition. Also, I have educated myself. For the three years I was on the diet I got enough calories!! I was eating protein, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. I felt great. I was enjoying life. I was getting plenty of calories for sure!!

Lack of Knowledge about nutrition is not my problem. I have not been to a doctor because of illness in over twenty years. And when I went for check ups... I was always amazingly healthy. . But thanks anway.

I have fallen into an addiction to sugary and salty foods. I know my health won't hold out. I just thought someone might understand the addiciton and offer tips to get back to proper eating.

Sister Goshe, thanks again for your words of wisdom. Already, I am making better choices and for the last two days....have eaten nutritious food other than the candy bars, colas, bacon sandwiches (with lots of mayo,) and potato chips that was my diet the last year.

The following really helped and I sincerly appreciate the time you took to write it, Very Happy Very Happy ( I really like all your posts by the way)

kitty

I appreciate your post- I have often thought, especially when I am running regularly, that I don't get enough calories and by metabolism gets screwed up. I'm going to see what I can do about finding a dietrician soon.

lynn

I tell you what, my world has turned around in the path three weeks. But it's still a battle- I have to conciously work toward creating my day and getting to bed on time so I can get up early, and conciously remember to pound as much water as I can, and chew slowly and eat conciously... yep- there's so much I'm remembering from the books that I still need to re-incorporate into my lifestyle... then practice, practice, practice... I heard it takes 30 days to establish a habit. Best wishes to you!

Thanks, sister goshe.

I'm speaking about what is presently working for me, of course. My doctor recommended a dietician to me and acknowledged before I went, that most people she does refer, come back saying they already knew all of what the dietician had to say. Myself, I think I already knew 90%... but the little bit I learned is helping me out. Some food choices I used to make, I'd forgotten about (such as eating a promegranate for something both crunchy and sweet and adding canned tomatoes to my meals which adds salt and fullness to my meals so I don't grab chips or nuts afterward), and I also did come to a realization about my recent change in eating habits while talking to her. A bonus to my going, is that I get support and my weigh-ins for free (Weight Watchers and other groups cost money).

Lynn, or Guest, perhaps I misunderstood your post. I guess I focussed in on the part that you stopped the healthy eating and went to sugary/salty foods and didn't know why. You probably already know this, but cravings and changes in eating patterns are the bodies way of telling us, something is out of balance. My reply was an attempt to be helpful. So, what exactly, did you apply to get yourself back on track, I don't think you revealed that in your last post.

And, just curious but, isn't "I have not been to a doctor because of illness over twenty years", a contradiction?

I am sorry Kitty!! I stand corrected by you! I have struggled with a learning disability for a long time and often communicate in a contradictory manner and have a hard time expressing myself.

But I also want to try and not give up.

Thanks for letting me know that I contradicted myself.

Kindest Regards,

And I am sorry for my impulsive post to the dietcian suggestion! Gosh, I was reacting to something somewhere in my background.... not to your sound advice!

Hope I am making sense of some sort here!

An objective opinion by a professional sounds like it would help!!

And thanks for sharing about the canned tomotoes and promegranate. I can see that they would be better choices than the ones I am making lately!!

Thanks again!!

In the Celestine Prophecy I think it's in Chapter 3. Foods that aren't dead. That have high energy. There are suggestion about chewing your food and eating more slowly- really tasting your food and being concious of what you are eating. Prayers before we eat are designed to raise our energy to a more concious state upon eating. The Secret of Shambala, Chapter 2, I think, also talk about diet.

First Step Toward Building Energy by James Redfield

The article named above in the January edition of Celestine Journal has great information and has been very helpful.

Also, Salle Redfield's new picture is lovely. I wonder what she eats for breakfast???

hi everyone.

i entered this forum in a very unexpected way and i can see im getting answers i ve been lately searching for. One of them is about food and eating. I am also experiencing a food addiction lately and i have no idea why. (I just started reading the Celestine Prophecy, so i dont know about everything that's in the book yet.) Anyway, i have always been eating healthy food and going to the gym (its been 3yrs already). But the during the past week i've been working out really hard in the gym, but also started to eat more. Somehow i cant imagine eating a meal without feeling really full and basically 'stuffed' afterwards. Does anyone here know what it means? I can't go to a doctor or buy anything too expensive because i'm just a 'poor' student, heh Confused , but my addiction really worries me. It is not THAT bad, that's why i'm trying to fight with it in my own way, and it's also the reason why im posting it on this forum. So if any of you here have any tips, please, ill be really glad if u let me know. Or in case u know the 'psychological' reason for my addiction. What shall i do to stop it?

Just to add i usually eat soya instead of milky, dairy products, and try to eat as much vegetables and fruits as i can. Where i fail is usually by having some cookies or chocolates after or in between my meals...

I'm sorry if this is irrelevant on this forum, i just felt like i had a small chance to ask for any advice. (some of you were saying you know about the nutrition and diet stuff.)

Thanks for any help at all
, ill be really greatful.

Luv, K. xxx

p.s. sorry for any mistakes in my english, im a foreigner. Wink

One thing that i find helpful in curbing cravings is to eat something of each of the 5 'tastes-flavors' [sour, bitter, sweet, pungent, salty] each day.

I had an amazing revelation the other day that may be of help to you. It is certainly helping me.

I've been struggling with the "will-power" part of dieting for 10 years. Like you, I have much knowledge about nutrition, dieting, health, and I am capable of listening to what my own body needs. I just don't have the "motivation" or "will-power" to abide by what I know.

It occured to me that my worry over it all is causing the very stress that keeps me from being able to do what is right for me. So I asked myself where the worry is coming from. I realized that in the US, we have made health & dieting & nutrition a very difficult, complicated, media driven, perhaps too important subject. Most of us think about it ALL the time!

Then it came .. the revelation. Here it is:

Eating well (notice I didn't call it dieting) is easy. You put into your body what is healthy for your body and nothing more. That, in and of itself, is not difficult. It is easy.

This concept of "doing what is right is easy" has translated into several areas of my life. It doesn't take long to discover that doing the right thing for your emotions, your body, your finances, your relationships, is much easier than doing something that is questionable or wrong.

It's easier to say NO to a bag of potato chips and YES to an apple if you remember how you'll feel in an hour (not just physically but emotionally, spiritually and mentally).

It's easier to say YES to spending time with a friend and NO to sitting in front of the TV for 2 hours when you remember how it will affect you later.

It's easier to go for a walk then sitting in front of the computer surfing the internet when you remember how flexible and non-bloated you'll feel in the morning.

So ... the whole point is ... keep is simple. Don't let it become more complicated than it is because the attitude in the US says to.
