Curious how everyone found these books

I was just curious how each one of you found these books.

I first recieved the Celestine Prophecy from a friend who read it and just couldn't stop thinking of me when he read it. My name is Charlene =) Guess that may have had something to do with it...

Anyhow a few months or maybe even a year later I found the next book while browsing a sale table in front of a book store where it was on clearance for $3. Pretty much the same with the last just was there when I wasn't even looking for it, not contiously anyway.

I just love how each book came into my life at just the right moment and in the right order as well =)

I have started reading parts of it to my daughter who is 8. She was very intrigued when she heard my name on the first page =)

I actaully had pretty cool experience on how I found out about this book...

One night I was watching a Documentary on the History Channel about a guy who had dissapeared. The dissapearence alone was freaky situation, but it is what eventually led me to the book.

See in the Documentary I was watching it was real freaky, because they started talking about things that he studied (like The Celestine Prophecy). I don't remember the guy's name, but I remember watching and when they mentioned something about him being real into The Celestine Prophecy I right away wrote the name of the book down.

What was weird about his dissapearence is months before then he had talked with his Dad telling him that if he ever says he is going to kill himself it is not true. Well back to the day he dissapeared... It all started of with a very mysterious phone call the guy had made to 911.

They had the recording on the show and it went something like this:

"Op: Hello, this 911...
"Guy: Yeah, this is (sorry, I forgot his name). I need help!"
"Op: Sir, where are you and what kind of trouble are you in?"
"Guy: I don't know! I have to dissapear. I think I'm going to kill myself..."
"Op: Sir, I need to know where you are... Sir... Sir.."

Then all of a sudden he's gone. Never seen again. The operator said it was like all of a sudden he just vanished. In the show they talked with some of his co-workers who said his good friend got him on the book and that they were so deep into it sort of like a cult.

Something intrigued me about this and I immeadetly ran out and got the book. Now, take note: This guy is still missing today, he was not in any serious finicial trouble (he actaully had some money & lived in silicon Valley). Also his big blue mini-van has never been found, no sightings, no nothing.

So I went out and right away started reading the book. Alot of it already made sense to me since I'm real into this type of stuff, but it definetly put me on awhole new level with it. After reading the book I had put a very good friend to reding it. He has since then passed it on to several people himself.

But anyway I was at MovieStop looking for some good movies, and out of nowhere my girlfriend picked one up and said: "hey, isn't this that book your reading?" So right then and not even looking for it (I didn't even know about the movie) I found the movie.

Ever since all that I've been real into the book and reading more.

Oh yeah! The guys name was Phillip Taylor Kramer. There was a big speculation that he had found enlightenment through the insights and left this dimension.

For me it was simply a matter of it being recommended to me. When I read it it all felt so right for what I was learning at the time. It was one of the few book in my life that just blew me away.

Bought a copy for my mom back in the early 1990's and got an extra one for myself but never read it. It just sat on my shelf until I saw the movie this year. Funny thing is that is the only book on my shelf that I had but never read. I usually only buy books I want and do read immediately.

I found the first 9 insights when I saw my very first counsellor with a copy. He never discussed the book but I knew I had to get it. It wasn't until I stumbled on reiki that I re-read the book and then bought the 10th and later the 11th insight.

I introduced one of my ex partners to the books. We never stayed together after a few months we separated but I figured I came into his life for a reason. Of course I never appreciated what we had - stimulating conversation. But, I know one day I will meet someone else who likes discussing these concepts and living them with me.

I'm so thrilled I've been led to all of this!! I joined the chat room, recently, and have watched and read the posts there for a couple of days, and then scanned what else was available on site. After reading all 3 of the 'adventure' books, I was hooked in every sense.....I have enjoyed them so much. The lessons are more than profound, and have connected dots in a way I had not expected from a 'non-religious' book. Ha!!!!!! The way they found me was just this last month when a friend in Tennessee was also looking for a movie at BBuster, and walked directly to this movie and picked it up. She and her son have an alternative healing project there, and she called me after they had seen it. Immediately I found it on Amazon, the DVD and the books. Since then I've read the three, then ordered/received Celestine Vision, God and the Evolving Universe and finally, The C. Prophecy, an Exp. Guide. I'm becoming saturated in the philosophy and also the practice of learning more. This year I opened an LLC out of my home; an alternative healing management practice. I use this title, because it keeps all the 'agencies' from wondering/probing and demanding. Many modalities are used here, all energy based, so I have access to quite a group of seekers. It's been fun to introduce J. Redfield's work to them. Also, I enjoy Mike Dooley and TUT. These two young men have much in common when it comes to philosophies and our powers of creation.

I would love to hear about what others are experiencing. Though I have the work-book, An Experiential Guide...it is doubtful a group will form at this time, though there are nearly a dozen here who are now reading, watching the movie, and very interested in all the possibilties. Who knows...stuff is popping!!

I amazingly found the first book , while I was at the library one day.
I was actually looking for some sci-fi books , but I ended up going to a different section in the library . When I found it , I started to read it right
away . I was instantly hooked . Since then I've read all the books , and they have really opened my eyes .

It was many, many years ago when a guy came in my office in Costa Rica, he was a backpacker looking for a little assistance, one of those cosmic connections we love having, after a couple hours of good conversation he pulled from his backpack a paperback book that looked to be well read, he called it his backpackers bible. He was holding what he called an underground copy of The Celestine Prophecy, he said you could only get it if you were connected, I had to ask ¨connected to what?¨ ¨to a higher power¨ he said, wow that was cool a book connected to the universe what a great idea, i had to read it, he said he could only let me have it for two days because he would be moving on and needed to take it with him, so for the next couple days I connected to a higher power and dug in, I returned it with a big thanks and sent him on his way. How cool is it you are reading it to your child.

Well, I knew this woman who's into qigong, Reiki, nature, outdoors, laughter and other interesting and good stuff. We didn't know each other intimately or really, really well... but she knew me somewhat when I was writing a thick catalogue of environmental books for a big-city alternative bookstore.

Anyhow, she happens to have some land in the same mountain valley where I live. And one day we were pal-ing around, and she told me about reading James's first book, The Celestine Prophecy. She told me about the insights and how human beings will tend to discover them in a certain sequence. Sounded pretty interesting, but I had already read a lot of spiritual, speculative, and new-agey books and had a lot of reading and projects on my plate at that point.

Then, after I got attuned to Reiki (on top of years of yoga meditation, dream journaling, nature experiences and stuff), I went through another big vibrational shift. And then a while later I was in the library in the fairly nearby largish town, and saw CP on the shelf, and decided to borrow it. (This was quite a few years after I'd first heard about it.) I enjoyed it, learned from it, and felt it was a good thing! So then went back and read the next in James's series, etc.

And so eventually I came here to this Web forum...

This is how I found the books..
I was in a small bookstore looking to buy "the secret".. when a book caught my eyes and I couldn`t get it out of my head..
It was boook nr 2 "the tenth insight" ..

It was like it was talking to me..buy me ..buy me.. BUY ME
So I did,and I also found the first book ..the celestine vision and
the last one the secret of Shambhala..


Looking forward to the next book,about the 12 insight..

I posted about how I came to read the book, on my introduction thread last week. In my case, it was the latest in a whole string of synchronicity that led me to the book and then to this forum!

I actually found the book in my in-laws guest room over 9 years ago. I was fascinated by it back then and have read it 3 times since, plus the sequels and the movie!

This is definitely the kind of book you want to read over and over again as it has a different meaning at different times in our lives!

Hi you all ...The way I found the book is very special....I was living in USA at that time , then travel to southamerica (home) for the summer and there my sister tells me t go to this doctor for a checkup, at the end of the appointment the guy tells me he had a near death experience, looks me direct in the eyes and asks- "what did you came into this life for?"-and then tells me to look for the book..-You HAVE to read it , were his words ,I find the last one in the bookstore...when I finished the book , I had this strange "thing in my stomach , when looking at James picture -somehow I will meet this guy ...something or someone said to me inside...I never felt that before... back in USA I met a bookclub that was going to discuss the book in my neighborhood, went there, told my story about how I found it , and the other new lady says-Ah well it was not by advice, it was a note that came out from one of my books , while I was putting them in order a few weeks ago, it was the note that James-we allgasped...Redfielf?-yes she said he left that note in my door after we broke up-I remembered him , called a friend that said something about the book he wrote, and here I am...I could not believe what was happening....
This information saved my mind and my heart when my marriage ended in USA in a very nasty way...I was alone with three children , a very difficult time, the people from the group that worked the insights with me are part of my soul group , I am sure...I am so grateful tothem, to the Universe for this book, and for James disposition to be a channel for it...
I tell my story here to encourage all to do this work,it is incredibly powerful , work through the workbook , your life will change for the better , I am a living proof of this.
Every year I do a workshop free of charge on the CP work for 9 weeks to celebrate and to enjoy the stories of many others where the same magic happens over and over. It is not casual that you have found this information, act on it!
