Like all great stories the Celestine Prophecy follows this template. You get three main characters and one represents the intellect, another is the Will and the third is the feelings.

John = Intellect
Wil = Will
Marjorie = Feelings

Before I really get into this I better do some googling to see if anyone has done this before.

Interesting. This made me think of the parent, adult, child in transactional analysis, but I will wait to see where you are going with this before I comment further.

I am only just reading through shambala, so I am not too sure where I was going with that one either. Laughing

If you have come across the work of eric berne in post freud psychology, you will know about the theory that the ego is made up from the adult, parent, child roles and, whichever dominates at the time, it predicts how we behave. This transactional analysis (put oversimplistically Laughing ).

Maybe James was thinking about the different aspects of the ego too?

However, yesterday, I was reading about how the number 3 is significant in so many other spiritual belief systems

Christian - the father, the son, the holy ghost
Hindu - brahma, shiva and krishna
Hindu goddess triad mahadevi- lakshmi, saraswati and kali
Wiccan - the triple goddess
Transactonal analysis - the adult, parent, child

Where the 3 are usually different aspects or manifestatons of the one and the whole.

I wonder if James had something like that in mind when he was writing the books? Or maybe, we humans just like the number 3?

Anyway, you set my mind off wandering..............

Hi Kei and Darin,

Reiki symbols are to be chanted three times as well

Chu ko rei
Sei hei k
Dyko myo
Hon sei sho nen

So, three seems to be a spiritual number.

I think John symbolises the way men do not like to ask for help or directions very much. Whereas Father Sanchez and Father Karl pull him up about this Aloofness.

I think in society it seems okay for a man to be aloof or , interrogator or intimidator but, wouldn't ever admit to being a poor me. Although I know of a few men who fit the poor me.

It does seem woman are meant to be the more passive: interrogator, or poor me traditionally. But, aloof is becoming the new norm and the Intimidator as woman violence is on the increase.

I like TA and thanks Kei for pointing out that Parent, Adult and Child are EGO states. The more we live out of our higher selves the less the EGO is in charge it seems the better.

Love, light and blessings
