Ok here It goes. I'm a former mormon. My entire famly is stanch L.D.S. Now I'm the black sheap. I'm pagan and openly bi-sexual. I've done time in the big house and brought back the knowlage that every one has good in them. I continue to portay the rebel so thows who've been hurt by what appears good arn't afraide to talk to me. I still clean-up well and can still be sivalised. I combine this with a compleate lack of judjment of what others do. If asked however I say exactly what I think. I tend to say things straight out in as few words as possable. I always hated giveing talks, I always thought they were boring why would I put someone else through that! I love life with all it's challenges and the freedom to work said chalanges. I tend to get a bit Impatient sometimes though with the time it sometimes takes me to realise the desired solution. Lots Of Love Riseing Angel (RA) |

Hi Laserus,
That's one big question, to which I might just have an answer...
I believe that humans are born with a natural instinct for mutual respect. Whenever I say those words, even in polite company, the words are usually met with loud guffaws and the like. But me being me, I don't take my beliefs lightly, as they have to be firmly backed with reasoning and good old fashioned common sense. So once you've cleared your eyes, I will continue.
The misconception that backs my belief is that we believe/feel that we need the respect of others in order to live. We do not. The only respect we need to live our own true life is our own respect for ourself. Which begs the question: why do we feel we need the respect others? Because we've learned to believe that, due to their dishonest behaviours being draining, that they are borne out of disrespect for us.
We've added two and two and made five: disrespect is draining, therefore we need respect to regain energy - wrong!
Their dishonesty is not directed at us, it is only their way of protecting themselves from their own fears and insecurities; their inability to be truthful in no way shows a lack of respect for us, it reflects their inability to face their fears. However, we do feel pain and grief from the experience and that stems from our own lack of respect for ourselves brought about by our own insecurities and fears.
So, in answer to your question regarding good disguised as evil - why? It's our way of coping with our fears. We all use them: from presidents to schoolyard bullies, from religious leaders to artists and from those in the West to those in the East; anyone and everyone in fear dons the disguise that locks away their true self.
These behaviours have been around for a loooong time and will take some time to shift. However, the good news is that every day brings us greater insights into our life and place in the Universe.
You've got to live it, so why not love it? Love dissipates fear. |

Hiya,
im not sure what lead me to your post, but i guess i was meant to read it.
Like you, i too am an escapee from the mormon church!!! I know how constrictive it is.
I also have investigated many other faiths and im more buddhist than anything else, although my partner often describes us as Celestine-ites!!! lol
one of my favourite sayings is "be good, be happy, be you!"
no one else can play the role of you, only you can decide the best course of action for you! Follow your bliss, whatever makes you happy! The people that truely love you will always love you and it should not make any difference what anyone else thinks says or feels!
Its your life be free.
sending you a big hug from one lds escapee to another!!!
much love sandra x _________________ Dance to the rhythym of life, step into the flow and walk as a child among the spirits! |

Hi Sandra,
This is getting way too spooky... my grandfather was born in Stoke-on-Trent, not that I ever got to meet him, but that's another story...
Nice to meet you, perhaps you, me and Nick will meet up one day.
Peace and happiness,
Pat |
