I find something interesting parallels between Redfield's book and the Book of Mormon.
Both involve key dates of 600 B.C.
Both focus on insights to be found in South America/Peru (this was the initial belief on the geography of the Book of Mormon though it now has changed to focus more on Meso-america or Central America.)
Both have created much persecution in opponents though Redfield's story was fictional while persecution by Book of Mormon opponents was very real.
The insights point to the concept of a righteous society while the Book of Mormon spoke about a righteous society instituted by a visit from Jesus following his crucifixion and resurrection.
Interesting coincidences or parallels between the two books....though very different messages though both hold up Jesus as an examples...just some thoughts. _________________ Randall Q. Lawrence

Hi there,
I havent read anything on the morman religeon at all, but when i meet the people they are indeed good people with good intentions.
I think in the books by james redfield he says i think that nearly all religeons are correct.
I bet if we look hard enough we could find coincidences all through them, the intergration of these religeons in to our own lives seems a good thing.
As a ten year old i used to go to church, and i used to enjoy it, the people were nice and the subjects were sort of enlightening.
It was peer pressure that stopped me from carrying on. it must have happenned for a reason, thinking about it i suppose its because that wasnt the only religeon out there. im going to start studying other things pretty soon.
I read the divici code and that to was a very intriguing book, i heard that alot of people have actually gone in search of other things now, i dont know how true it is.
Are there any books that you would say are worth reading, and if so could you tell me why and what it has learnt you, if you dont mind.
see you later. _________________ EYEMAN |

Hi all
books are a wonderful tool. They help relax, restore, revise your thinking, help balance your checkbook....or just take you through an amazing journey of mystery and suspense. Often my mother in law gives me a steamy romance novel and my husband hands me the book again and smiles....books are wonderful tools.
Celestine Prophecy has been on my bookshelf for years. I picked it up to read it for the first time while on chapter 10 of writing my first novel. Who reads books while trying to write one? I guess some people do for ideas, but this book stared me down so I finally picked it up and read it. I could not put it down. Now I'm on chapter 29 of my novel and the ideas won't stop flowing.
My advice to you Eyeman, is to clear your mind, then think of a question you'd like answered. Something that you're feeling at the time, or just an emotion you'd like to experience. I find the book I need gets my attention, in perfect time.
Once, in a book store, a book fell off the shelf at my feet. The gentleman in the isle gave me a strange look and quickly left the store. My husband laughed, picked up the book, laughed again and purchased it. The book was Are you a pagan? I read it, was fascinated, and yes, for many many years I studied paganism and wicca. It opened a whole new journey for me in my life that allowed me to be where I am today.
I was open to the signs and messages from the Universe, without ever having known that's what I was doing. I was on a path, and didn't know.
Good luck with finding your new journey as they "Pop" out at you! _________________ Would you rather watch the world? Or experience it? I love a good mystery.... |

Thanks for the advice, and congratulations on getting so far with your book, i will be eventually reading books on all religeons, but its finding the time at the minute.
My first proper book that i got in to, was about buisness management called the hungry spirit, and the reason i picked it up was the front cover, it had a picture of a bonsai tree, and the title.
I was amazed by its content and the way i was able to fit it together with normal life, sometimes i go into a bookshop and come out with nothing, because like you say, nothing jumps out at me if you know what i mean.
I really hope you enjoy being a member, and i think youll get many answers to your questions here, enjoy.
Whats the book about that you are writing?. _________________ EYEMAN |

I'm planning a trip to the Cozumel/Tulum Ruins/Mayan area of South America on the north eastern coast which I believe is more accurately considered the Book of Mormon lands.
I looked into Peru too- and maybe I'll go when my son is older because it's not too safe for a single mom to go right now. The Amazon River cuts through Peru on the west side of the continent. Of course the indiginous people couldn't have been there too. But I think the Celestine Prophecy is purely fictional and not directly referring to the Book of Mormon.
Someday I'll travel to Tibet too -that's the setting for the Secret of Shambala!
It's interresting that Mr. Redfield's books have inspired my travel destinations. I wonder if anyone else has traveled to Peru or Tibet because of the books. _________________ Sister G0$he |
