Hello All!,

I am curious too know what made some of you turn too spirituality,am interested in life circumstances that made the decision for you(physical/emotional),& wether or not that contradicts your intelectual approach/belief too life..

I guess i should just say that i got into reading the celestine prophecy for healing(physical),and while it didn't do anything for that,it did send me off on 'individual experiences',which means i did something right..

what i mean too say is that for me,i got swept up by all of what spirituality had too offer me at a time where i was physically weak,& mentally very susceptible too any kind of hope/saviour,nowadays i'm more sceptical i guess,i don't truly believe, nor did any of my experiences return,so my questions pertains too the fact that what we may believe at the time is affected by our mental & physical states..

Its strange for me i guess,i've become more sceptical about spirituality & god in general, the more physicaly healthier that i've become, although,i'm still open too the fact that the different possibilities of life are just that,a possibility(but just not fact),which is the scientists conudrum i know...

heres hoping for some feedback...

regards...

michael leon....

Hello Michael,

For me it started sometime when I was a child. I was required to go to Catholic classes for church and I kind of felt that there was something wrong with what they were preaching. I wasn't mad or anything I just didn't agree. So one day I was laying on the lawn staring at the clouds and I began to wonder what the point was. I figured there had to be a point or there would be no reason for us to be here. We could simply not exist and it wouldn't matter but we did exist. So basically that questions sent me on a life long quest to figure it out. It took some time but I feel for my peace of mind I have found some answers that give me serenity about our life. That being said there is nothing wrong with questioning life. The more you question the more your views will probably change as our perception is based on our beliefs. I would say I believe that there is probably an ultimate truth to our existence but until we have attained it, it is like just getting a few pieces of the puzzle. They all fit but when we get more the picture changes. And finally growth really comes mostly when we don't blindly accept what others try to tell us because ultimately all the answers are within our soul we just are trying to remember what they are. At least that is my view.

Sincerely,
Michelle

Hi michael leon,

Whether we are drawn or feel inclined to something to question it or discuss it we are still drawn towards it!

I totally rejected anything spiritual for some time. I did not want anything to do with religion etc why? well when growing up the priest and others couldn't answer any of my questions and tried to palm me off. that is until one day I saw an advertisement for a health and beauty class. I went out of mischief really - as i wondered why the tutor i knew was teaching such a class. It was a typo infact and was actually a health and healing course (reiki). Reiki was not a lecture or taught class it was very experimental. As I experienced the sensations of reiki my curiousity began.

Healing happens on my levels and just because one does not heal physically does not mean one has not healed!! Its like layers of an onion. Since you seem to be drawn to this website and spirituality something is drawing you back.

I can only speak from my own experience and the things I have experienced confirm that their is a higher force at work in the universe. However, I cannot convince anyone else - that is their job.

Do you believe in scientist bias? that is when the scientists expectations affect the experiment?

Do you ever feel tired when you are around someone being negative?

Have you read what the bleep do we know? this book is about questions leading to more questions etc.

Questions help us expand. You are absolutely right you should not take anyone elses word as gospel. What feels right for you? Do you feel drawn to study certain topics? let this curiousity expand your world.

Good luck and welcome, i hope you find what you are looking for.

Blessings

Hi Michael,

FACTS even in science are affected subjectively. Newtonians theory, then came Ensteins relavity etc So even what we call FACTS can be disproven tomorrow. Whatever we look for we can find. I used to work in a Physics Department of a famous university and any good scientist would know with each new research study what they believe to be true could be falsified.

It is very important to experiment and find your own answers. Not rely too heavily on others having all the answers.

Blessings

I was raised almost my whole first 18 years strictly as a Chatholic. Going to Church Groups, making my Holy Communion, and Conformation never really bothered me. Infact it felt like I was doing something right, but ever since I was a kid I always had something in the back of my mind telling me all the pieces of the puzzle were not being given to us.

I always had felt this no matter how deep I got into religion. I was going to Church regularly and pretty much knew 90% of the Bible. But like I said before it always felt like pieces were being left out. So I began to question myself, my religion, my parents, etc.

Also I'm a big fan of National Geographic, Science Channel, Discovery, etc. So anytime a show came on involving Religion, History, Evolution, Spirituality I made sure to watch. I took in everything and I would try and match things up with what I knew from the Bible.

Alot of things just didn't add up. So I began to think then that maybe that feeling of missing puzzle pieces was a true feeling. I'm also a believer on going on your gut instinct. So this didn't feel wrong even though I was a bigtime Chatholic.

So as I learned new things from these shows, which were always backed by some Proffesor, Scientists, or Professionals, it had me feeling like I was in a way deceived. I felt like my Parents and the Church held out on some of the things I should have been taught.

But I think really the only way to get to certain new heights of spirituality is from things like this to happen to us. Without trial & error somethings couldn't be. If we never had these feelings that something was missing or that there is more to life then we've been shown then we might not have searched Spirituality.

Then we'd be stuck and would never know it. So I think it goes hand in hand just like Good & Evil goes hand in hand with one another. But anyway back to topic... As I get older I just think more and more comes to light, and as that happens I become more and more aware.

hi. I came upon this book about 2 weeks ago or so. I talk to my angels or spirit guides and got a name in my head. when i looked up the name, it was an actor who was in the movie. I immediately felt the need to go and buy the book. I was raised Catholic, went to Catholic school through college, but never took any interest in any of it. I believed in God and the saints and Angels, but the last 13 yrs. or so, really got away from going to church except on a holiday. I felt it was something that you "have to do". Last year, I got interested in astrology, and one thing led to another, and the Angels have occupied a huge part of my life the last year. I've had many things happen when I ask a specific question that I can't explain. I thought for the longest time I was crazy or losing my mind. I've been led to certain movies, books, etc. that have put me on this path.

I watched a movie recently called "Deja Vu". I think its from the late 90's. Its about a woman and man who are soulmates. Anyway there is a line in the movie, something like, (if you find something that means it was supposed to happen, the fact that you found it means that its right, that something is supposed to happen). I think I got the idea of that, I don't know the line exactly, but its close enough. So I believe that when we are led to something, especially if we're not sure at first why, we will find out the meaning of it eventually and it will be for our own benefit. I can't explain how it happens, but it does. I think I'm still in shock at where I'm being led. Smile

katiefl,

Well for me it happened 24 years ago when I was 13 (Ok do the math I getting old Smile ).

I was in my local library doing some research fora school project when I slipped on some loose carpet. As I fell I reached out with my Left hand (I am right handed!), to steady myself. Instead I still fell to the floor.

However - as I lay there on my back I was holding a book and the book was open. My finger pointed to the name Eileen Jeanette Garrett.

http://www.fst.org/garrett.htm

I was born on the 11th August. A month before she died. My father was shunned from his family many years before (married wrong class!). What makes this story just a lttle bit more interesting is we share the same surname and through some digging do have irish roots.

So my journey into all things spiritual started there. The only person who would talk about it was my dear grandmother (rest her blessed spirit). The rest of my family forbid me to talk about it whilst I lived under their roof.
