|

Hi,
Some years ago I began to learn Reiki and before that I discovered that I was able to feel "something" between my hands (like something "solid") and someone told me that it was my own energy flowing. Ok, I though, although a part of me said "maybe it's only a sensation created by your own blood flowing..."
However, I've found some people that believe in the possibility of seeing that energy. Jame's book and movie helped that idea to go on and a question came to my mind some days ago: If only just looking at someone (or plant, or animal, whatever...) we're able to see some kind of energy, why do we need Kirlian cameras?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the possibility to see energy fields (and other stuff) was reserved to trained people like spiritual masters (with years of meditation, f.e.).
Because... as time goes by, an idea gets stronger in me. What if more people knew and saw more than what we're used to? Would the world be the same? surely not...
God bless you,
Eshwar. |

Hi Eshwar.
The ability to see energy fields and other stuff like spirits, is not reserved to spiritual masters and years of meditation. In fact, there are many, many people if not most people with this ability, are actually born this way. A lot of us can see and feel since we can remember. It has been said that this ability to see what others can't has to do with using a larger portion of our brain, say 20% as opposed to just 10% as most untrained human beings (just to give you an example). As you ca imagine, this can be difficult to comprehend as a child because you don't quite know what's going on or what it is you're seeing. Rest assure that other than spiritual masters, people who are able to see into the spiritual realm (if that's what you meant by "other stuff") are born with this ability.
As far as seeing Auras, I believe this is different. I believed this can be accomplisehed by most people with practice and the right mind frame.
I hope this helps |

Embraced,
I'm not sure if you can answer this or not because if you have been doing it all your life you may not know what the difference is but I'll give it a try. Two of the shows I'm into watching are Medium and Ghost Whisperer. I guess I always assumed mediums just saw stuff that others couldn't but I am starting to wonder if the seeing part has partly to do with not just using more brain capacity but that by going into a sort of waking meditative state that you are activating more of your brain. In any event, do you feel especially relaxed, more so than say when you are writing out a check, when you have visions?
Thanks,
Michelle |

Michelle ,
I see what you mean. I used percentages just to give him an idea but being able to activate more of your brain is something some can be trained to do while for some, it is a gift. For some, it may start happening while experimenting with mind altering drugs and then it stays with you and believe or not, for some it starts happening after going through tough life situations where your spirit guides become more aggressive in trying to reach out to you and giving sings to help. My point is, that there is sort of a veil in your brain that can be removed in a variety of ways as I mentioned, and some people are born without that veil because of personally traits, innate spirituality, culture, etc. Also the personalities of your spirit guides have a lot to do with this.
The visions do happen when you are in a more relaxed estate. In my case, the guides come in my Alpha (right when I'm about to fall asleep but I'm still awake), why? because they know me. They know I'd be terrified if they showed up on my face while I'm writing a check and they know they can't show up while I'm asleep because they know that I don't trust dreams as much. My point is, I never went through years of practice and meditating to reach this bit of psychic abilities.
I come from a background where there's lots of influence from spiriatual religions like santeria, palo, etc. and I can tell you that there are people that are advanced enough to be able to see there spirit guides when they need to be seen, at any given time of the day without going into any trance.
This is just my experience. |

I first notice a change in me when I died after giving birth about 23 years ago. I do feel energy fields, and I freely "hear" the other side. Having tried most of what James says in his books, I have grown and found that I can receive prayers as well as heal with my prayers! You should really re-read the book with a totally open heart, because this is something all can do, if you follow the principles set forth in James' books!
I had someone give me his books about 10 years ago, and they have changed my way of thinking. I am Wiccan, but feel his books stretch across all religions and can really change our planet! I think it's more of not using our hearts/soul than brain! We are a spiritual based people and so many do not use this!
Sending love and light

i was born seeing energy as i think we all are! but society tells us that those things don't exist so we stop seeing it all! i however was raised in a spiritual family who never told me that i wasn't seeing it! now i teach all my students how to see it! i am a reiki master myself! many of my students can already see energy and auras as i could long before i ever heard of reiki! others have to be taught how! i try and work with all of my students on all their senses but i also try and help them refine their strongest sense the most! do they see, or hear, or smell, or know, or feel the energy and the spiritual realms? i try and help them figure this out! but most of them can see now to some degree even if they can't fully see what i see! many many people are born with the gift of sight already turned on to such a high degree that no one will ever convince them (us) that we are not seeing what we are seeing! much in the same way that people will never convince me that my religion or faith in God-Christ is wrong!

Dear Rev.
I would never try to convience anyone to change religions! I was simply pointing out that these books can help someone of ANY religion. I am sorry if you took my post the wrong way. I agree with you, that we are born with a knowing and it is "taught" that we shouldn't! Some people have to work at it to get this back.

Hi All,
I have only ever felt energy when giving reiki, light heat or cold. I have however, been directed to the right books to read many times. Maybe its because for me it seemed okay to feel energy and see books to read as if acceptable but to see an aura maybe seems unusual to me?
As for religion. For me we all have our own perspectives and we are all able to critque things ourselves so I'd not try to convince anyone to change religious beliefs.
Take care

i am so very sorry you thought i was talking about you der! i was talking about society as a whole! you like when children talk about their friends that other people can't see, probably relatives or guids but their parents or teachers tell them that they are wrong, or just playing make believe, or its just their childesh imagination! that is all i meant! what is was saying is that now (before as well with people like me, but especially now) with the indigo and crystal kids here they will be showing all the nay sayers the true deep mysterious multi demensional leveal to reality and the universe and they won't be so easily swayed by society at large! thats all i was saying! i didn't take anything you said as a personal affront in any way or anything like that, and i am so sorry if it was taken that way! it really was a general not a personal statement! i am just so frustrated with many of the parents i know right now, telling their kids that things don't exist just because the parents don't understand it! its like i am surrounded by an epidemic right now or something hahahahaha! and on the religion thing, i wasn't refering to you either....i have just had a lot of people tell me lately that my faith in christ and my religion is wrong, so i was just making a comparrison about how people in general in competition for the energy try and convince other people that their experiances are wrong! it wasn't aimed at you at all believe me!

Sorry that I took you the wrong way Rev.! Yes, I totally agree that parents are teaching kids not only to not believe, but not to use their imagionations in full! I do have the pleasure of watching my Granddaught grow, and my daughter actually studied James' books as part of her jr high/ high school education (she was home-school) My Granddaughter is being taught to see and hear things! It is amazing to watch!
And Rev, I am so sorry that some people are telling you your faith is wrong, because faith is a good thing. True faith is very hard to find. I've often told Wiccan friends not to "knock" Christians, that if they live by the word of Jesus, then they are "harming none" which is the Wiccan crede.
I do tell everyone I meet of any "faith" about these books. I believe we can/are going to change this planet's way of thinking.
Maybe I took things wrong to find out the true nature of people here, because this just doesn't work without trust... now I know that you all are truly living in light and I can be free to discuss the other things in my heart/soul.
I too have been reading up on the indigo and crystal kids! How awesome! Do you have any good links you could share?
And Reiki, I have one friend who just finished a course and another who is going through it. I am wondering if it is the "healing" that I do. I can put my hands about an inch away from a body and feel heat where ever pain is. Cancer comes across really hot, almost burning. I've found that I can "suck out" most illness, the same way my dad "took" fevers from people. My daughter can do this long distance! She has cured me of things when we are 1,000 miles apart!
And this makes me wonder, does it come from me raising her to "know" she could do this?
It is amazing to have a child and teach them in the light and watch them grow... my daughter did have negitive influnances, but on the whole, she chose to believe what I told her. Now to see my granddaughter at 20 months being encouraged to see/hear/play... wow... And she has done some awesome stuff. On Halloween, Wiccan's do a ritual to honor those who have crossed over. We print out pictures and this year Sara kept on saying "eresura" And that was all she said during the ceremony. It took me a while to figure out, she was saying "where is Laura". This is a friend of mine's daughter who crossed over and now watches out over Sara.
I by the way, am a medium. Not by choice, but rather I can hear things when no one else can. It's always made me feel kind of out of place, but I've come to accept that this is the way it is. I am not afraid to die, I know what is over there! _________________ With love and light,

hahahaha i know of samhein my dear pagan sister i am a celt and celebrate the old holy days as apart of my celtic christian mystic path, or celi de for short! i am an ordained minister, a shaman, a reiki master, a massage and aroma therapist, and i am in training to be both a crystal healer and master herbalist! the healing thing you do with your hands is the same as in the reiki tradition! feeling hot places and such! i think it may be worth it to tell you health wise for yourself that there is a more effective way to remove the bad stuff and not take on any illness, which can happen if you aren't getting rid of what was sucked out! that is how the ancient shamans use to die very early sometimes! they took to much into themselves and held it! so instead always ground before and after working, try blowing prana into the place this is called shamans breath! imagine the air around you is made of pure light from the divine, breath it in and then use it to blow out the bad stuff from peoples bodies! then use the divine energy and let it flow through you and into them filling their bodies with light so nothing negative will stay or cling! at least in theory that how it works! just remember the energy isn't from just us, we are all vessels for divine power! you know this from your ritual of drawing down the moon and such! about your daughter and grand daughter i am so happy to hear all of that!!!!!!!! thank you so much for sharing it gives me hope! i dodn't mean to sound preachy before but i just am always worried about peoples health.....its the teacher in me, i can't help it lol! always feel free to talk to me as honestly as you want! i am so happy to see a pagan sister here! the people in your community have generally been very good to me, more so then my own religious community in most cases! i study all religions and am apart of the celtic community where i live! i use to have many high preistess friends and a couple of preists who were elders! they have all since died or at least most of them! the others seem to have scattered to the winds! i miss those dear elders so bad! the pagan community in my area has gone in hiding now, or else the are disorganized, and scattered! they no longer meet in mass! i use to go to some of the gatherings; but the last ones i went to were sad for me due to the absence of elders and any true leadership! people that are to young and inexperianced with the mysteries are in leadership positions now; seemingly too early and some of them are abusing their authority and misrepresenting the pagan religions! so do me a favor a pray for both the pagan and christian communities where we live here in texas! they are both in dier need of better leadership hahahaha! i think and have hope that we will get there, and i hold the vision! the insights are helping expand my reiki or vise versa! you should tell your reiki friend to explore how they will increase the effects of eachother! i am having a most interesting and awsome time with that right now! i too know whats over there and was born into a family of seers! i myself am a seer and see the spirits, angels, fairies, guides, totems, etc...! i am so glad you shared with me what you did! i think the wiccan rede and the golden rule are one in the same don't you!?
blessed be!

Wait a minute Rev... You mean you live Tex? This is really weird... in Louisiana! I have lived in Colorado for about 15 years, and that, for lack of a better word, was amazing! There are power points in the mountains, so much so, the Monks from Tibet have a monastry there! The energies you can get from those mountains are simply awesome, I just can't put into words! The peace and serenity are uncomparable to anywhere else I've been in the US.
When I "suck" the bad stuff out of people, I learned by trial and error to get rid of it by "shaking it out". I will definantely try "blowing" it away! My dad's family is from Mass/Conn and most are Wiccan. Dad always told me he didn't believe in church and when his time came, he wanted a Summerland Ritual to help him over. I had not been in contact with the family in years, and come to find out, most are either preachers or Wiccan's. My dad's mother was known as a healer and I believe she held in the sickness because she died at a very young age... but then again she gave birth to 13 children!
It is sad that the elders around you have gone away. I've been practicing solitary now for over 20 years, and loving every minute! I do have a few people who looked at my life and have changed religions because they liked what I do, how I do it... harming none is harder than it first looks! My mother was a devote Southern Baptist, who watched me and my friends over rituals and then even participated because she saw nothing wrong. She was my greatest champion, protecting my religion and my faith to many of her family members who believed "suffer a witch to die".
I too have been studing herbs for about 20 years. I have a garden where I try to grow everything I need. Unfortunately, I have a dog who just loves chamimolle and eats it before I can harvest it! When I lived in Colorado, I knew what grew wild and what was good to eat. Here, I am lost, and I am "hung up" on moving back to Colorado. Unfortunately, my hubby is from Florida and wants to move there. Me-oh heck no! That place is dangerous with all it's weather and it's so hot!
My calling right now seems to be helping people who have lost children and helping them connect with the otherside. I have noticed simular traits in all of them and I am able to deal with them without harming myself, so I don't mind. But having to give a message to someone I don't know kind of freaks me out. I've always been right, but it usually makes the person cry. Even though I know it's tears of joy, it's still tears, and the pain is there. Rev, do you do any work in this field? I do not have a formal education in this, it's just something I am "told" to do. I would love to hear anything you have to say!
I do believe that all religions are tied to the golden rule, and yes, the Wiccan crede is the golden rule too! I was a devoted Christian for many years and read the bible over and over. And Jesus believed that faith was the most important thing... look at the cermond of the mount! He was approached by a pagen solider who asked for healing of his household helper... Jesus said when I am done here, I'll go there, and the pagen said, no Jesus, if you say he is healed then he is healed! (Not word for word, but the meaning is right) Jesus told the crowd that the pagen had more FAITH than all of them!
I am glad I came to this board at this time in my life. I seem to be growing out of the mourning for my mom who I took care of for 4 years before she died in Oct. I've been lost and unable to really focus on anything. My friends have had me working in my gardens and grounding to try to keep me sain. I have had contact with my mom, and I know she's doing great, but I miss her physical body... I miss taking care of her, it was my mission for so long! Thanks so much for being here, and I look forward to learning from you all! _________________ With love and light,

oh my God oh my God oh my God..........this is so freaking syncronistic its scary! i have not been very many places...i grew up here in texas but the only time i have felt at home any where, truly at home is when several years ago we went to the mountins of colorado and new mexico! consequently i want to move there someday! that is where i want to live, up in those beautiful sleeping dragon blue mountains! i fell in love with a litttle town called durango but then again we didn't get to go very many places! there was a sacred place we went to called purgatory and it was beautiful and teaming with much sacred power! on your dog...well at least hes healthy right? lol ...13 children that was wow....just like my nan-great grandmother! she had alzheimers and demintia when she hit about 74! i took care of her for the family from the age of thirteen to the age of twenty five when she died! i am almost 27 now! i never had a real job because i lived here with my grandparents and took care of her! she is where me and my grandmother get our gifts from (well they are from God but i mean genetically)! her mother and sisters all had it, and her mom and her mom back and back and back for at least four hundred years that we know of! i am so jealous you got to live in colorado! anyway nan died a couple of years ago, and i have been trying to get my life together ever since! i feel it is my turn now! hhowever finding a job at my age is very difficult when you have never had one! they tend to look down at that and no one seems to want to give me a chance and i have completely given up on the whole massage thing sincce no one wants to hire a guy or get a massage from one it seems! so do me a favor and send me finding a new job prayers ok, i start really looking next month! i do have lots of experiance with the dead, but i don't like the term medium since to me that is a different gift then mine! yes i too get nervous when delivering a message from the other side! first you never know what the persons reaction is going to be, and i never know if i clearly got the message, well rarely anyways! i can see the messanger well enough but the message is something else! its almost like i have to interperate an encoded message (kind of like interpreting a dream) and that is not always easy! just push on and do what you feel led to do! thats all any of us can do is follow our hearts! it is interesting to know that in the origional language the word witch is not found in the bible! the word witch is an interesting one! it comes from brittian from the word wicca, and it was a dilectial way of saying witta which was a scottish form of the peasent craft or druidsm for the non druid common folk! the origional word in the bible can not even be compared to the word witch because the ideas are so different! the origional word was qasheph (kashef) and it was for lack of a better word a demonolgist! there is a site you should go visit called the christian witchery page! just type in the phrase "doesn't the bible forbid witchcraft?" into your search engine and it will or should give you a link! good for your mama! i have been an activist of that sort for many a year now! in highschool they instilled a new dress code that was anti-freedom, as well as being discriminatory! they tried to make my witch friend take off her pentacle and i exploded all over them! i marched her right up to the office and in front of everyone went very off on the principles! i said are you going to ask me to remove my cross? well no of course not they said, because its not a cult or an occult symbol! it should be noted here that in the beggining we were an occult, that which is hidden. we were the ones running around in caves hiding for our lives meeting in the moonlight and in caves and in the woods in hooded cloaks to keep from being slaughtered! i guess we didn't learn our lesson good enough hence the inqeusition and the witch trials! any way i said to them "well thats where your wrong and it shows how iggnorant you are about your own so called religion! but i assure you that if yall try to make my friend take off her religious symbol then i will call my freind at the news paper and have a crew here in a couple of minutes. and i bet they will not paint such a favorable picture of yall when this christian boy gets through with you! further more i want this rediculous strike against our constetutional rights that you call a dress code to be rewritten imediatly or you will have and aclu law suit on your hands and i am as serious as a heart attack! what is next, a science worshiping athiest will take over the school board and tell me to remove my cross or ware a uniform? i will die first!" needless to say the problem was addressed and they never again asked any of my pagan friends to remove their icons! harming none is almost impossible i find hahahaah but we still gotta try right? i mean when ever i as a christian hear the word sin! i don't hear "evil doer must repent or die"; i hear oppertunity to try harder next time and change the pattern of behavior! to sin means to miss the mark! but i love what morgain had to say in the film adaptation of mists of avalon! she said "yes we have sinned, but are we going to let those sins drag us down as some preist would have it? or are we going to rise above them and do what we were put on this earth to do"? i love that! yashua or jesus as people now call him helped many pagans while he was here! do christians think they should honestly do less than this? i think we should all help eachother as best we can in life! forgive my iggnorance but mass/conn ? anyway it has been such a delite to meet and talk with you on this page!

I just want to say that your converstions were fascinating to read and Ihave just startd reading Energy Medicine by Donna Eden, which seems to be along the lines of your conversations about energy healing.
Jan, can you suggest any herbs or vitamins that will aid in reducing the negitive physical effects of holding onto stress and worry?
