First Night Showing in Syracuse, NY - 2 to go!

I sent this message out to my study group last night, and thought I'd share this with you as well. CAT.

I just had to share this with all of you. The first night showing here in

Syracuse was amazing!!!

My phone has been ringing from calls all over NYS..apparently mine in is the

last showing here in NY. There is no set date yet for National release.

The phone never stopped ringing at the theater either..and I often had to take

the calls there for the workers to answer peoples questions about the

movie!!



I couldn't believe the number of people who came in! This was all grass

roots stuff..posters, email lists, and one small ad I put in a local paper on

the back page. That's it. Even the theater staff was impressed!!!

There were enough people that I got a little overwhelmed while selling the

tickets tonight, and the next two days I need to slow down and

breathe.........LOL



THEN...as people filed out of the theater into the lobby..they stayed!!!

They were smiling, eyes misty.....and couldn't wait to talk to someone about the

movie!! I don't know how many of you are regular theater goers....but Ed

and I go alot, and NO ONE stands around talking like that. Everyone just gets

out of the theater as fast as they can go and out to their cars. Not

tonight!!! They hung around and hung around....LOL

Final night exhuberance!! All three nights have been marvelous..and tonight was the best yet! Most people hung out after the movie and wanted to talk, wanted to discuss. The stayed in their seats and talked. They came into the lobby and talked. They never stopped talking!! Many people said they wanted to read the book again!



The only thing that my husband and I found had to do with the projectionisht, not the movie. He went up and talked to the projectionist before the second night showing about the sound and the color, and both were greatly improved from then on.



Everyone wants to know!! WHEN is the national release??

Nice one. I saw the movie this past Sunday in Norwich, CT. The audible speech was a bit muffled which, I believe, hampered my experience. I've got to see this again!
