A request for your prayers

I am new to the group and really don't know how you ask for this most powerful gift. I humbly request your help and support, for my wife of 25 years, and best friend is facing a horrendous physical, emotional and psychological battle as she continues her 7 year battle with cancer. She is overwhelmed with pain in her abdomen, nausea and fear. For more than 2 months she has tried to have the courage and faith that she will get better soon. If you can include her in your prayers so that she will soon start to feel better and find the strength to once again beat this disease, I would be most greatful.

All my love to each of you and thanks if you can share your positive energy and prayers to help.

Have you heard of Adam the dream energy healer, he is giving
another workshop in Toronto in September? I went to a seminar 2 years ago and he seems authentic. I felt his energy in the group healing. He promotes the idea of an individual visualizing their own healing (Check his website for more details). Here is his link

The last couple of weeks have been very tough. I have sought help / support on every level. People have been praying and sending good energy.
Last night I felt a wave of energy come over my body and with my eyes closed I could see the smallest brightest and warmest light. Something has changed with my wife - I could not stop crying and the joy was overwhelming - for more than 30 minutes I wept - it was though I had been touched by an angel. I felt a power like nothing I have ever felt and in the middle of those feelings I knew my wife was going to be ok. I let myself go and I thought about how this would affect our life and frankly had a sense of peace and happiness I have never felt in my life. What a dichotomy on one hand hope and the other disparity. Medical people leaning one way and spiritual people (including our Shaman, Naturopaths, and Reflexologist) kept the candle of hope burning. I hugged her and shared what had just happened to me. While I held her and told her that she is going to be ok, I suggested that she allowed herself to imagine how she would feel and think if she was well again.

After being ill for so long - it won't happen overnight. But I feel our hope is alive and she will get well. Thanks for your prayers, love and positive energy that you have been sending our way!

Now I need to learn how to turn this around a give it right back to each of you.

On my past update I talked about that experience with the light and this overwhelming feeling that my wife Cheryl was going to be okay. But here I sit a week later and the doctors are telling me that she might not see the end of the month.

I am not clear on why things are developing this way and what I am supposed to learn and do next. Surely this is a path that I must walk, but I have never walked on a path so overwhelmed by rugged terrain, steep cliffs and dense brush. I don't even know where I am going... but there must be something at the end that I must find.

I am asking for your help so that I may remain strong and positive for her as we still have hope. If you can continue to say a prayer for her and ask that she may begin to feel the effects of her treatments for the Shaman. I am eternally greatful for the love and support that the group has shown me.

I can tell that this is new for me as I quickly have become detached from the source and didn't recognize it. Somehow I need to refresh and get back to a better place. So much going on in the concious logical mind and the clutter has been taking me over.

I do not know why I keep thinking about Randy Pausch when I feel your pain, so I am telling you that, just in case you need to google his works. I understand his book is filled with strengths and insights (as are his lectures). Love and Light.

Hi JL,

I am not going to say 'I know how you feel' because I don't. I have not gone through what you are going through at this time.

What I would like to offer are suggestions that may perhaps put your recent experiences in some sort of perspective. I have gone through some stuff in life, and found peace in all of it.

I would suggest to you that your recent experience with the Light, and the Love you felt, the assurance and inner knowing you felt, that your wife was going to be ok, was all real and valid information. I would also like to suggest to you that it was a healing for you, to be able to carry on through this time.

If we, as people, are open, and in that openness, able and willing to look around with innocent eyes, devoid of cynicism and despair, we can see that there really is nothing to fear in this world.

You obviously love your wife, have shared so much experience with her. I would suggest to you that her love for you is so powerful that she is, at the deepest level of her soul, now giving you an experience that only she could give you. It is not simply for the experience however, it is an opportunity for you to grow in ways you had not imagined for yourself. This is her offering for you, how she serves you.

I am sure you would rather have some of her homemade cookies or some other thing like that, but what we need, inside, is always being presented to us by the Universe/God/Source. The question we all deal with is not whether we can survive these lessons, but whether or not we can accept them.

Acceptance is sometimes the most difficult lesson of all.

Once, the great teacher Krishnamurti sat with some students after a lecture. He asked them if they wanted to know how, and why, he was able to understand the world and humanity. They answered of course positively. His explanation was very simple.

"I don't mind what happens."

That is hard isn't it? I mean, how can a man possibly love people, a wife, children, parents, anyone really... and 'not mind what happens' to them? And yet, what I am suggesting to you is that in that moment of experience, when you could feel the warmth of the Light, as well as the Love and re-assurance that Cheryl is going to be alright, you were given that understanding that Krishnamurti had. That at the end of the day, it is ok what happens. The person you have loved and lived with is going to be ok, regardless of the way things appear in this physical experience.

Neither you nor anyone else who experiences these painful expressions of our humanity has any reason to 'mind'. That is, if we really are able to accept that we are indeed spiritual beings having a physical experience.

The service your wife gives you now, is something you could only accept from her. There is no one else for you who can teach you what she is teaching you now.

The question for you now is, without knowing how things are going to play out, are you going to accept the lesson as valid?

I am not a psychic. I do not know how your current circumstances are going to evolve in the future that rapidly approaches all of us.

But in all possibilities we can see before us, I wish you Peace.

Hi Steve,

I came back and reflected on what you have said and I also did some work with an Energy Healer and amazingly she has said what you have said. Apparently I have been paired with my wife in previous lives and in one of those lives, I died for her at a young age to allow her soul to grow. We apparently had a contract and she agreed to do the same for me in this life. Can you imagine how that made me feel and what I learned from that insight about acceptance. The healer severed some pain ties for me and a lot of my grief was relieved... I was blown away by the affect this had on me. I am still digging deep and looking for what lies around the next corner while reflecting on what my wife did for me and finding a new even deeper level of love which I could have ever imagined.
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful words... you are wise and I appreciate the time you took to write this and what you have shared with me.
