2. A DEEPER INTUITION
Here, I will elaborate more on the phenomenon of deep Intuition. As suggested in the generalized example of Synchronicity, all of us can encounter certain thoughts that act to steer us to the right places for Synchronistic opportunities to occur. I am referring to those ideas that merely “pop into our minds,” such as images or daydreams of ourselves doing something. Some people may experience Intuitions more as a “gut feeling” or an inner “hunch,” yet they still have a quality of urging us to do something and to take an action.
As such, these urges can be easily distinguished from general fear thoughts or addictive compulsions. Overall, they should be separated from “calculative thoughts,” those where we talk to ourselves in our heads about possible decisions we face. Much in the same way we might speak to another person about our lives. These kinds of thoughts are not Intuitions.
The primary difference is that these Intuitive impulses or sensations suddenly just “dawn on us.” They arrive in our minds with an inspired or energized emotion. This difference is critical to becoming fully aware of this phenomenon. It is tempting to take credit for every idea that passes through our minds as though we, in our wisdom, came up with it. Honest observation shows something else. In reality, Intuitions are given to our conscious minds by some guiding, higher intelligence that is supplemental to our ego thoughts. Of course, once detected, the action suggested by the Intuition has to be rationally calculated and then explored logically.
How do we know for certain which thoughts are true Intuitions? One technique is to ask, “Why did this thought come to me now?” This approach is fundamental because very often Intuitions do not always happen at opportune times. We must avoid dismissing such helpful observations simply because we are doing something else.
I recently awoke with an apparent problem on my mind. We live deep in the forest, so we need big dogs to let us know when our forest friends (coyotes, bobcats, rattlesnakes, etc.) are getting too close to the house. One of our dogs was getting older and ready to retire to warming in the sun all day, instead of roaming the premises on guard. So it became imperative to find a new one.
On this morning, however, I had to leave quickly for an early meeting across town. By the time I roared out of the driveway and onto the main highway, I had forgotten all about the earlier Intuition. Then suddenly, I remembered it again. A distinct thought came to me to stop at a local pet store that was just up ahead, one that had hosted rescue dogs in the past.
My rational side immediately reacted, as I knew stopping now would put me very close to being late for my appointment. Besides, I told myself, this was a Tuesday, and this pet store usually only had rescue dogs on weekends, so why bother. Thankfully, I remembered to apply my own advice. After all, why did I think of this pet shop right then, after clearly having put the need for a new dog out of my mind? I realized it could be a real Intuition. I had long ago learned that it was better to check it out and find it led to nothing, rather than take a chance that I would miss an important Synchronicity. At the next light, I pulled over and parked in front of the store. When I went in and looked to my right, I met eyes with a beautiful, young, blonde lab. By that afternoon, she had become our new dog, Ginger.
Intuitions occur to all of us, but we have to act quickly, explore them completely, and take timely action. Would Ginger have been there that afternoon once I returned from my meeting? Who knows? It is taking this thought seriously and following the suggestion, within logical bounds that make all the difference. By doing this, not only do we receive monumental breakthroughs and new tracks of destiny, we also find everyday solutions to problems that make our lives go easier.
Once you build the habit of fully noticing and following Intuitive guidance, your life will forever be changed. Your Intuitions will grow deeper, bringing you greater knowledge on how the world works, and how to get into alignment with it.
